The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is the flagship-tier option, while the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G is a separate midrange model. Their listed specifications point to different priorities: the Xiaomi has a larger front display and a higher-resolution triple Leica camera system, while the Redmi has a larger stated battery. The available prices come from different markets, so they do not establish a reliable price difference.

Which phone is better for your priorities?
Choose the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max for flagship-tier hardware
The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is the stronger fit if you want the more premium product tier, a 6.9-inch front display, a small rear display, and a triple Leica camera system with two 200 MP sensors. Xiaomi’s China listing also offers configurations up to 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage. Those specifications describe hardware, not measured speed or image quality; no independent performance or camera test results are established here.

1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesConsider the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G for its stated battery capacity
The REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G has a reported 9,000 mAh battery, compared with 8,500 mAh for the Xiaomi flagship. That capacity difference does not prove the Redmi lasts longer in everyday use: display settings, chipset efficiency, software, signal conditions, and workload all affect runtime. Cinco Días also reports 67 W wired charging for the Redmi, while the cited Xiaomi China listing does not state a charging rate for the 18 Pro Max.

How do the cameras compare?
On the specifications cited, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max has a more elaborate rear-camera configuration: 200 MP + 200 MP + 50 MP with Leica branding. Cinco Días reports a 50 MP main camera and a 2 MP secondary camera for the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G. Megapixel counts and camera branding cannot establish which phone takes better photos. That requires comparable testing of detail, exposure, color, focus, stabilization, and low-light results.
What is the price difference?
A direct price difference is not established. Xiaomi Community reported a China-market starting price of CNY 6,999 for the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. Cinco Días reported a Spain-market starting price of €479.99 for the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G with 6 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. These amounts use different currencies, markets, and memory configurations; subtracting or converting them would not produce a reliable like-for-like comparison.
