The Xiaomi 17T is the better fit on paper if you want a larger display, faster UFS 4.1 storage, a 512GB option or a 5x periscope camera. The OPPO Reno16 5G is smaller and lighter, has three 50MP rear cameras and a 50MP autofocus selfie camera, and supports faster rated wired charging. Neither specification sheet proves which phone takes better photos or lasts longer in everyday use.

For a separate market reference, TechRadar reported that the Xiaomi 17T launched in the UK at £649 for 256GB and £699 for 512GB in its 2026 review. Those are review-time UK prices, not a current global price; the review also reported the phone available in the UK but not then in the US or Australia. Read TechRadar’s Xiaomi 17T hands-on review.
What specifications cannot settle
Battery capacity does not predict runtime by itself, and charging ratings do not show how long each phone takes to charge under matching conditions. Likewise, camera resolution, processor names and storage standards are useful for comparing hardware, but do not demonstrate overall photo quality, sustained performance or battery life.

TechRadar’s hands-on review describes the Xiaomi’s 120Hz display as sharp and vivid, its everyday performance as capable, and its camera output as strong but not class-leading. Those are observations from its Xiaomi review device, not results from a controlled side-by-side test against the Reno16. Comparison pages also combine different types of information; without transparent, like-for-like test conditions, they cannot establish a universal performance, camera or endurance winner.
