The Motorola Signature has a larger, faster-refresh display, a higher-tier listed processor, wireless charging, stated IP68/IP69 protection and up to seven years of OS upgrades and security patches. The Xiaomi 17T has a higher rated battery capacity and a 5x optical periscope telephoto camera. On one India comparison listing, the Motorola was ₹7,000 cheaper, but that snapshot is not a universal price or a like-for-like guarantee. The better choice depends on local price, storage version and which features matter most.

What the spec differences mean
Display and performance
Motorola lists a larger 6.8-inch panel and a maximum 165Hz refresh rate, compared with the Xiaomi’s 6.59-inch screen and 120Hz maximum. Its listed Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is also a higher-tier platform than the Dimensity 8500-Ultra listed for Xiaomi. Those specification differences do not establish a particular everyday speed advantage: sustained performance and responsiveness need comparable independent testing.

Cameras
Xiaomi specifies a 5x optical periscope telephoto camera; Motorola specifies a 3x periscope telephoto camera and a 50MP ultra-wide with autofocus and macro capability. That gives Xiaomi the longer stated native optical reach, while Motorola gives the ultra-wide a higher listed resolution than Xiaomi’s 12MP unit. Camera quality cannot be determined from resolution and zoom specifications alone.
Battery and charging
Xiaomi’s stated typical capacity is 6,500mAh, versus 5,200mAh for Motorola. Capacity alone does not establish which phone lasts longer in real use. Motorola adds 50W wireless charging, while Xiaomi’s listed charging is wired; Xiaomi says the adapter is not included and recommends a Xiaomi 67W adapter or above, while also listing PPS support up to 50W.

Build, protection and software support
Motorola’s listed phone is 14g lighter and 1.18mm thinner, and its specifications state IP68/IP69 and MIL-STD 810H. Check local warranty and care terms rather than treating a protection rating as a warranty against damage. Motorola specifies up to seven years of OS upgrades and security patches. The cited Xiaomi specifications page does not state an equivalent update duration, so the two update periods cannot be compared from these pages.
Price difference depends on country and storage
A 91mobiles comparison page displayed Xiaomi 17T at ₹69,999 and Motorola Signature at ₹62,999 when accessed in 2026, a ₹7,000 displayed advantage for Motorola. This is a changing India listing snapshot, not a guaranteed checkout price or official universal MSRP. Check the current listing and ensure the two phones have the same storage tier and comparable local warranty.

TechRadar’s June 2, 2026 review reported UK Xiaomi 17T prices of £649 for 256GB and £699 for 512GB, and said it was then available in the UK but not the US or Australia. Those are dated reported prices, not confirmation of current stock. The cited sources do not establish a directly comparable Motorola UK price, so they do not support a UK price-gap calculation.

Which phone should you choose?
Consider Motorola Signature if
- You want the larger screen and higher maximum refresh rate.
- Wireless charging or Motorola’s stated IP68/IP69 protection matters to you.
- You value the manufacturer-stated update period of up to seven years.
- The specific RAM/storage version and local price suit your budget.
Consider Xiaomi 17T if
- You want the higher stated battery capacity.
- A 5x optical periscope camera is more useful to you than a 3x telephoto camera.
- You find a better current local offer for the configuration you need.
- You are prepared to supply a compatible charger if you need one, since Xiaomi says the adapter is not included.
What to check before buying
- Compare the same storage tier and, where possible, the same RAM configuration.
- Confirm that the exact regional model supports your carrier’s network bands and eSIM needs; Xiaomi notes eSIM availability can vary by region.
- Check local warranty coverage, return terms, current stock and included accessories.
- Use current local prices rather than combining prices from different countries or dates.
