The Xiaomi 165W Power Bank 10000mAh (PB1165M) is a compact, high-output travel battery built for quick top-ups, not maximum capacity. Its integrated USB-C cable and second USB-C port can deliver up to 165W combined under Xiaomi’s laboratory test conditions, but the 10,000mAh label does not mean every phone can charge at that speed—or that every phone will get two full charges. It makes sense if you value a cable-free grab-and-go setup and fast charging with compatible devices; its thickness, short cable, and modest capacity are trade-offs.
What the Xiaomi 165W rating means
The PB1165M has a 10,000mAh battery, but that is not the amount of energy available to a phone at its charging voltage. Xiaomi’s German specifications list 36Wh of battery energy and a nominal delivered capacity of 5,500mAh at 5V/4A. These figures describe different things: the advertised cell capacity and the rated capacity delivered under a specified output condition. See Xiaomi’s official specifications.
The headline 165W is the maximum combined output: up to 120W from the built-in USB-C cable and up to 45W from the separate USB-C port. It is not a promise that one device will receive 165W. A device must support a compatible charging protocol, and when two devices are connected the available output is shared. Xiaomi also qualifies the maximum against its laboratory test method, so actual charging speed varies with the device and conditions.
How many times can it charge a phone?
There is no dependable universal charge count: phone battery sizes, conversion losses, charging behavior, and conditions differ. HardwareZone reviewer Cheryl Tan estimated that the bank’s capacity is roughly enough to charge a large phone twice, but that is a reviewer’s estimate, not a guaranteed result for every phone. Treat it as a portable top-up battery rather than assuming two full charges.

Individual reviews show how much results depend on the device. Business Insider Japan’s Fumihiko Sato reported about 35 minutes to charge a Xiaomi 14T Pro from empty to full and around 90 minutes for an iPhone 15 Pro. HardwareZone reported 68 minutes for a Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Those are reviewer measurements on specific phones, not expected times for every user. Is it convenient to carry?
The official dimensions are 143 × 48 × 36mm. Its integrated USB-C cable stores in a recess, so it can spare you from packing a separate charging cable; Business Insider Japan also reports that the cable can pop out of its storage slot. HardwareZone describes the cable as 15cm and says it can feel short in use. That may be fine when the power bank sits beside a phone, but less convenient if you need distance between them.

Weight is reported as 315g by Business Insider Japan and 316g by HardwareZone. The reviewers’ impressions differ by comparison: HardwareZone found it relatively light beside a much larger-capacity bank, while Sato found it thick and relatively heavy beside banks with the same capacity. In practical terms, the built-in cable reduces what you need to pack, but this is not an especially slim 10,000mAh option.

Xiaomi’s user guide estimates approximately one hour to recharge the power bank using a 90W-or-higher charger through the integrated USB-C cable. With a 20W charger connected through either USB-C port, Xiaomi estimates approximately 2.5 hours. These are manufacturer estimates, not independent test results. The faster estimate depends on having a sufficiently capable wall charger; the power bank alone does not provide that charger. See Xiaomi’s user guide.

What are the main drawbacks?
- Capacity is limited for longer trips. At 10,000mAh, it prioritizes portability and fast top-ups over carrying enough energy for many full recharges.
- The display may frustrate you. HardwareZone called it odd, and Tan’s review concluded: “Even if you don’t have a Xiaomi gadget with 120W charging, this is an excellent budget buy. Just pretend that you can’t read its display.” That is her opinion, not a universal assessment.
- Fast output depends on compatibility. The 165W figure combines two outputs and does not establish that a non-Xiaomi device—or any particular phone—will charge at its maximum possible rate.
- The short built-in cable limits placement. At 15cm according to HardwareZone, it is convenient for carrying but may not reach comfortably in every setup.
For a laptop, think emergency extension rather than replacement for a dedicated power source. In one HardwareZone test, using the bank with a MacBook Pro M2 on a plane extended play time by about 30 minutes; that example illustrates a brief top-up, not sustained laptop use.

Who should buy the Xiaomi 165W Power Bank?
It is a good fit for travelers who want a built-in cable, two-device charging, and quick charging with compatible phones, and who are comfortable carrying a somewhat thick 316g-class accessory. It is less compelling if your priority is the most capacity for the space, a longer integrated cable, or an easy-to-read display.

If you need dependable multiple full charges or regular laptop power, choose a larger-capacity bank designed for that job. The PB1165M’s unusually high combined output is useful, but it does not change the limits set by its 10,000mAh capacity or the devices connected to it.
