Xiaomi 15 is the newer generation. On Xiaomi’s own figures it has the newer processor and a larger battery, so it is the better spec sheet. Xiaomi 14 is still a capable compact flagship, and whether the newer phone is worth more depends on the price gap in your market today, not the launch-period gap. No current universal price difference can be stated, because prices vary by country, storage tier, seller, promotion and warranty.

Processor and battery: where the spec gap is clearest
The processor generation is the most concrete difference on paper. Snapdragon 8 Elite is the newer platform, and Xiaomi’s global page describes it as 3 nm. Xiaomi 14’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 remains a high-end chip, but the sources here do not turn the generation gap into a speed percentage or a day-to-day performance claim, so none is made here.
Battery capacity and what Xiaomi actually claims
Xiaomi lists 4610 mAh typical for Xiaomi 14 and 5240 mAh typical for Xiaomi 15. The company’s 2025 product-page comparison puts the difference at 630 mAh and attributes the comparison to its internal labs. Xiaomi 15’s global product page also cites up to 25 hours of video playback, again as an internal-lab figure. Neither number is independent testing, and both assume the test conditions Xiaomi used. Battery capacity is one input to endurance; the processor, display power draw and software all affect how long a charge lasts in real use.

Cameras
Xiaomi 14’s Spain specifications list three 50 MP rear cameras with Leica-branded optics. Xiaomi describes Xiaomi 15’s system as providing optical-level coverage from 14 mm to 120 mm. That is a useful way to compare what each phone can frame, but it does not show how either camera handles low light, motion or colour. If photography is the main reason for the purchase, look for independent camera reviews published close to the date you buy.
Display
Xiaomi 14’s 6.36-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh is documented on the Spain specification page. Xiaomi markets a brighter display for Xiaomi 15, but the sources reviewed do not confirm its full panel specification in every market. Treat a numeric display comparison as incomplete until you have the sheet for your region.

Charging and the wireless charger
Both phones are rated at 90 W wired charging and 50 W wireless charging on Xiaomi’s pages. The wireless detail matters for Xiaomi 14: Xiaomi Spain’s specification page states, in Spanish, “Los cargadores inalámbricos se venden por separado.” In English: “Wireless chargers are sold separately.” Attribute that sentence to Xiaomi Spain; the translation is provided for readers. If you plan to use wireless charging, check whether your listing includes a charger, and check that any third-party charger is compatible with the phone before assuming it reaches Xiaomi’s rated 50 W.
The price difference: what is known and what is not
No current price gap can be stated for either phone. Xiaomi Corporation said in its 2024 Q3 announcement that the Xiaomi 15 Series launched at a higher starting price than the Xiaomi 14 Series, but the announcement gives no amount. Xiaomi’s November 2024 corporate report added that the Xiaomi 15 Series reached one million unit sales faster than the previous generation despite that higher starting price. Both statements describe launch-period conditions. Street prices move after launch, and today’s gap may be larger, smaller or reversed in your market.

How to compare prices correctly
- Fix the exact model, storage tier and regional version on both sides. A 256 GB Xiaomi 14 and a 512 GB Xiaomi 15 are not a like-for-like comparison.
- Check current listings from authorized or reputable sellers in the same country on the same day, and record that date.
- Note whether each price includes a charger, and whether it reflects a promotion or a coupon that ends.
- Confirm warranty terms and whether the seller is authorized for the market you are buying in.
- Compare totals, not sticker prices: add the wireless charger to the Xiaomi 14 total if you need wireless charging and it is not in the box.
Which phone to choose
- Choose Xiaomi 15 if the price premium at the same storage tier is acceptable and you value the newer processor generation, the larger rated battery and Xiaomi’s display refinements.
- Choose Xiaomi 14 if it is clearly cheaper at the same storage tier and you are satisfied with an older flagship chip and its camera feature set.
- Check before buying that the model number and region on the box match the specification sheet you relied on, and that the warranty applies in your country.
Both phones are the 2023 and 2024 Xiaomi generations described in the sources above. Later Xiaomi models may have launched since those materials were published, so confirm that either model is still sold new before deciding.
