XGIMI has announced two U.S.-market models in its AURA 3 Series: the AURA 3 Max and AURA 3 Pro. Both are described by the company as 4K UHD, 4K 120Hz RGB triple-laser ultra-short-throw projectors. XGIMI’s U.S. reservation page lists campaign prices and a $50 refundable deposit; the Kickstarter campaign is scheduled to begin October 20, 2026, with shipping expected to start in December. These are announced plans and manufacturer specifications, not confirmed ordinary retail availability or independently tested performance.
What are the AURA 3 Max and AURA 3 Pro?
The AURA 3 Series is XGIMI’s announced line of ultra-short-throw (UST) projectors for the U.S. market. UST models are designed to project a large image from a short distance in front of the screen or wall. XGIMI says the AURA 3 models use RGB triple-laser light sources and support 4K UHD resolution and 4K 120Hz playback. The company also lists IMAX Enhanced and Dolby Vision for both models. XGIMI’s September 2026 announcement and its September 1 press release provide the launch details.
The lineup consists of two models rather than one projector with different bundles. XGIMI’s published specifications distinguish them chiefly by brightness and native contrast:

Which model should you consider?
AURA 3 Max
XGIMI positions the Max for larger rooms, larger screens, or brighter viewing conditions. Its published figures are 5,700 ISO lumens and 8,000:1 native contrast, compared with the Pro’s lower stated brightness and contrast. Whether that difference is worthwhile depends on the room, screen size, viewing conditions, and campaign price available to you.
AURA 3 Pro
The Pro shares the features XGIMI lists for the platform but has lower stated brightness and native contrast. Its listed super early-bird campaign price is $200 below the Max’s. XGIMI’s model-selection guide also recommends weighing room brightness, screen size, and intended use.
