Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition entered Japan’s weekly top ten at No. 8, with Famitsu estimating 5,780 units sold from September 28 to October 4, 2026. Famitsu lists the edition’s release date as October 1, making this its debut chart week. The figure is a Japanese weekly estimate, not a worldwide or lifetime sales total.
How Xenoblade Chronicles 2 ranked in Japan
Famitsu’s estimated Japanese software chart for September 28–October 4, 2026, lists Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition at No. 8 on Nintendo Switch 2. Its estimated sales for the week and its cumulative total on debut are both 5,780 units. Famitsu names Nintendo as publisher and gives October 1, 2026, as the release date. Famitsu’s weekly chart is the primary source for the ranking and estimate.

What Famitsu’s 5,780 estimate measures
The 5,780 figure covers the chart week in Japan; it is not the game’s worldwide lifetime sales. Famitsu says its estimates reflect information available when the chart was compiled. Its software ranking combines packaged software, download cards, and preinstalled versions. Nintendo Life describes this particular chart entry as the physical retail release, but that description should not be confused with Famitsu’s broader chart methodology. Nintendo Life’s English-language chart report provides that context.

The Switch 2 Edition ranked below the week’s No. 1, Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve (63,013 estimated units), and No. 2, the PS5 version of Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered (18,724). It was just ahead of Splatoon Raiders at No. 9 (5,403) and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream at No. 10 (5,318), according to the reported chart.

Why this is not a lifetime-sales milestone
Nintendo’s investor-relations sales page reports worldwide consolidated lifetime units, including digital versions. Its figures use a different scope and time frame from Famitsu’s single-week Japanese estimate, and the displayed Switch top ten does not include Xenoblade Chronicles 2 or establish a total for the new edition. The two kinds of figures should not be treated as comparable sales totals. Nintendo’s top-selling-title sales data explains the scope of its published figures.
