If Download to console is missing in the Xbox mobile app, first check that you’re signed in with the account that can access the game and that your Xbox console is added to the app. Then check the console’s remote features and power settings, and confirm the title is available to that account and console. The steps below cover Xbox console installs; the available guidance does not establish remote installation from the mobile app to a Windows PC.
1. Confirm you’re using the Xbox mobile app’s console-install feature
Xbox describes remote game installation to a console as a capability of the Xbox mobile app. Make sure you’re checking the game listing in the mobile app and trying to send the install to an Xbox console, rather than looking for a control to install the game on a PC.
The current Xbox Support page dedicated to remote installation did not expose its instructions in the available view, so exact app tab names and button placement may differ from older guidance. Avoid relying on a particular screen location if your app’s layout has changed.
2. Check your account and add the console
The app needs to be signed in with the Microsoft account that owns the digital game or otherwise has access to it. A Microsoft Community response recommends adding the existing console through the app’s console setup flow, then opening the library and selecting the game to start the console download. This is community guidance, not a verified guarantee of the current app layout.

- In the Xbox mobile app, check the profile or account area and confirm the signed-in Microsoft account is the one associated with the game.
- Look for the console icon or console setup/add-console flow in the app and add or connect the Xbox you want to use.
- Open the app’s library, select the game, and check whether the console download option is available.
If the wording or location differs, follow the app’s current prompts for adding a console rather than assuming the control is in a specific tab.
3. Enable remote features and check the console’s power setting
A Microsoft Community answer recommends enabling remote features on the console and using the Sleep power option. Treat these menu paths as community troubleshooting guidance: Xbox software menus can change, and the paths were not confirmed in accessible current first-party instructions.

- On the Xbox, open Settings > Devices & connections > Remote features and enable remote features if that setting is available.
- Open Settings > General > Power options and select Sleep if that option is available.
If your console shows different labels, look in its Remote features and Power options settings rather than choosing an unrelated setting. Remote installs also require internet access; Microsoft’s Xbox Series X|S manual lists internet access and a Microsoft account/Xbox profile as baseline requirements for online setup and downloads.

4. Verify the game is available to this account
Open the game’s Microsoft Store or Xbox library listing while signed into the expected account. Microsoft’s general Microsoft Store download guidance identifies region restrictions, removed catalog listings, device incompatibility, and missing account authorization as reasons an install option may be unavailable. These are useful checks, but that general guidance does not establish which specific condition controls Xbox mobile remote-install eligibility.

If you bought the game digitally and cannot find it in your library, Microsoft says you can check Order history for the purchase. A listing or purchase missing from the account you’re using may explain why the app does not offer an install.

If you have more than one console associated with your account or available to select, verify which one the app is targeting. Microsoft documents changing a console’s name through Settings > System > Console info > Name. A distinct name can help you tell devices apart in the app.

What the available guidance does not establish
- The exact current location and wording of the app control; the dedicated Xbox Support page, “Install games remotely on Xbox One,” did not expose its article text in the available view.
- Every title’s eligibility for remote installation. General Store availability checks are not a complete Xbox remote-install policy.
- Whether every step in the surfaced Xbox One support material applies unchanged to Xbox Series X|S.
