Choose based on the specific games you want live and where you watch. In the U.S., WNBA League Pass is an out-of-market streaming and replay service—not a complete live-TV replacement—because local and nationally televised games can be blacked out. The WNBA lists League Pass at $39.99 per year, but whether it covers the games you care about depends on your location and the schedule. Check the WNBA’s ZIP-code lookup and each game’s listed broadcaster before paying for League Pass, cable, or a live-TV streaming package.
Can you watch every WNBA game on League Pass?
No. League Pass offers live access to games that are available in your market, along with replays and archived games, but U.S. broadcast blackouts prevent some games from streaming live. The WNBA says its blackout restrictions reflect local and national providers’ exclusive live rights. Check the WNBA blackout rules and use the ZIP-code lookup on the League Pass page to see what is available where you watch.
The current product page lists an annual price of $39.99 and advertises live games, every game on demand, hundreds of archived games, streaming on three devices, select alternate and Spanish broadcasts, rewind controls, and live stats. These are product-page claims, not a promise that every scheduled game will be live in every U.S. market. Confirm the offer and terms at checkout.
What U.S. blackouts mean
- National broadcasts: Games carried nationally on the WNBA’s listed distributors are not live on League Pass in the U.S. The league says they become available on demand at 6 a.m. ET the following day.
- Local broadcasts: Games locally televised for your local WNBA team are also subject to live blackout. The league says they become available on demand shortly after the game ends.
- Location matters: The WNBA says it uses IP address or device location services to determine location, and ZIP code to identify local teams in the U.S. Blackout restrictions may change if you watch from a different location.
The rules differ outside the U.S. In Canada, games nationally carried on TSN, Sportsnet (SN), CTV, or CTV2 are unavailable live on League Pass; the league says they become available through the national TV provider shortly after the game concludes. The WNBA All-Star Friday Night event, All-Star Game, and Commissioner’s Cup championship are unavailable live on League Pass in both the U.S. and Canada, with on-demand viewing after the event. For other countries, the league says live games are available where League Pass operates, subject to local broadcast rights and service availability.

Where can you watch a blacked-out WNBA game live?
Look up the game’s broadcaster, then confirm that the channel or service is available to you. Depending on the matchup and market, a blacked-out game may be on a local broadcast station, a regional sports network, or a national distributor. The broadcaster list can change, so check the WNBA schedule for the exact game rather than assuming a particular service carries it.
For the 2026 season, the WNBA’s national schedule names ABC/ESPN, Prime Video, CBS/Paramount+, ION, NBC/Peacock/NBCSN, USA Network, and NBA TV. The league announced 216 nationally distributed games across partners, out of 330 regular-season games. Those season totals do not tell you which service has a particular game or whether a live-TV package in your area carries it.

The WNBA’s announcement describes the national slate as 216 games and includes distinct treatments for regular-season games and tentpole events; the partner counts above use the categories stated in that announcement and should not be treated as a guarantee of total games in any one subscription. The WNBA’s 2026 broadcast schedule announcement has the partner details. A channel or app name alone does not establish that a specific game is included in a particular package.

A practical game-by-game check
- Write down the team, date, and start time for each game you want to watch live.
- Check the WNBA schedule for the listed national distributor or local broadcaster.
- Use the League Pass ZIP-code lookup to identify games available live or subject to blackout in your market.
- For a blacked-out game, check the broadcaster’s current coverage area and the channel lineup of any cable or live-TV streaming package you are considering.
- Repeat the check for your other games. Different matchups may require different channels or services.
Is League Pass cheaper than cable or live-TV streaming?
The WNBA currently lists League Pass at $39.99 per year. That is a clear price for the product, but it is not a like-for-like comparison with cable or live-TV streaming: League Pass may not carry the games you want live, while provider package prices and channel lineups vary by market and plan. There is no universal cheapest option based on the available pricing and lineup information.

Compare the annual League Pass price with the actual cost of the TV package that carries your specific games. If you already subscribe to a service that carries a game, its incremental cost to you may be different from signing up for a new package. Include any additional package or channel costs you would have to pay, and check current local availability before deciding.
The WNBA FAQ also describes a 40% annual League Pass discount for undergraduate or graduate students in select markets, including Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the U.K., and the U.S. Eligibility and checkout terms should be verified through the official FAQ and offer.

Can you watch League Pass on your TV?
The WNBA lists iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, and Apple TV as supported platforms. App and purchase availability can vary by market. The route you use to buy the subscription also affects where you can watch it.

- WNBA.com: Desktop purchases are available as annual or monthly subscriptions.
- Apple App Store or Google Play: Mobile subscriptions can be purchased through these stores.
- TV device apps: Purchases through the WNBA app or channel on Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, and Android TV are offered in select markets.
- Amazon Prime: The league says Prime Video Channels is the exclusive third-party digital distribution destination for WNBA League Pass in the U.S. and select international markets. A League Pass subscription purchased through Amazon is viewable only on Amazon Prime platforms; having a Prime subscription alone does not mean League Pass is included.
Check the WNBA availability information and your device’s store before subscribing, especially if you expect to watch in a particular app.
What to check before subscribing
Billing and cancellation
Most subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled by the deadline in the applicable agreement. The WNBA subscriber agreement says cancellation generally takes effect at the end of the current paid term, and fees for the current term are not refunded. If you subscribed through an app store or device platform, billing and cancellation are handled through that original purchase channel. Check the checkout terms and the subscriber agreement for the rules that apply to your subscription.
Price and market availability
League Pass pricing, packaging, and regional availability can change. The $39.99 annual price is what the WNBA product page lists at the time of writing; confirm the amount and renewal terms at checkout. Blackout rules and broadcast rights also depend on your location, so recheck the ZIP-code results and the schedule when your viewing plans change.
