The Withings ScanWatch Horizon is a hybrid watch: analog hands and a compact PMOLED screen combine with activity and sleep tracking, ECG, SpO2, and respiratory scanning. Its main appeal over the classic ScanWatch is its more substantial diver-inspired design—not a different set of smart features. Withings rates it for swimming, but explicitly excludes diving and snorkeling.
What the ScanWatch Horizon is—and what its small screen means
Horizon keeps time with analog hour and minute hands. A small PMOLED display provides health metrics, activity data, settings, and previews of calls, texts, calendar events, and notifications from more than 100 apps, according to Withings. It also includes an alarm, stopwatch, and timer.
This layout preserves the look of a traditional watch, but it is not a full-screen smartwatch interface. Detailed interaction is limited by the compact display and relies in part on the Withings companion app.

How Horizon differs from the classic ScanWatch
Withings says the two models share their software, technology, and features. Horizon’s distinction is primarily its construction and styling. The comparison below reflects Withings’ published specifications, not independent durability or performance testing.

Withings says the Horizon bezel also carries electrodes used for ECG and SpO2 measurements. The retrieved manufacturer comparison does not establish a head-to-head difference in measurement accuracy.
Health and activity features
Withings describes sleep reports, activity tracking, heart-rate readings, workout mode, on-demand ECG, SpO2 readings, and respiratory scanning. These are feature descriptions, not independent evidence of diagnostic accuracy. Withings cautions that availability and clinical validation can vary by region; the watch should not be treated as diagnosing a medical condition on the basis of these specifications.

- ECG and SpO2: The product page describes on-demand readings that take about 30 seconds. The bezel electrodes are used for these measurements, according to Withings.
- Heart rate: Withings describes periodic measurements every ten minutes for ongoing tracking and continuous measurement in workout mode.
- Sleep and respiratory scanning: The watch provides sleep reporting and respiratory scanning as described by the manufacturer. No independent validation or diagnostic claim is established here.
- Activity and workouts: It tracks activity and has a workout mode; the small display means it is not equivalent to a large touchscreen for viewing information on the wrist.
Can you swim, dive, or snorkel with it?
Withings rates Horizon at 10 ATM, which its materials equate to pressure comparable to 100 metres. That rating does not mean it is a dive watch or that it can be used for diving: Withings permits swimming but says not to use the watch for diving or snorkeling. - Swimming, splashing, and dishwashing are listed as acceptable uses by Withings.
- Do not press or rotate the side button underwater.
- Rinse the watch after swimming in salt water, and avoid prolonged saltwater exposure.
- Withings advises avoiding chemicals, saunas, and steam rooms.
- Water resistance may be affected by aging and wear, so the rating should not be assumed to remain unchanged indefinitely.
Battery life and charging
Withings claims up to 30 days per charge in normal use, plus up to 20 additional days in power-reserve mode. In that reserve mode, the manufacturer says only time and activity tracking remain. These are vendor estimates, not independently measured battery results. The product page lists roughly two hours to a full charge and about one hour to reach 80 percent. Size, materials, and what comes in the box
Withings lists a 43 mm diameter, 13.28 mm thickness, and 72 g watch-only weight. The case is stainless steel, with sapphire glass, a rotating steel bezel, luminous dial elements, and a metal wristband. These are manufacturer specifications; comfort and fit are not independently assessed here.
The listed package includes an additional FKM wristband, magnetic charging cable, quick-start guide, and toolkit for adjusting the metal band. Confirm the included items for the specific regional package before purchase.

Setup, phone compatibility, and availability
The watch requires a Withings account and the mobile app for setup; Withings says it cannot be configured from a computer. A Spanish product page lists iOS 14 or later and Android 10 or later. App requirements can change, so check the current requirements for your country before buying.

Who should consider the ScanWatch Horizon?
Horizon is most relevant if you want an analog-style watch with a limited smart display and the health and activity functions Withings lists, and you prefer its steel bracelet, sapphire glass, luminous details, and rotating bezel. It is less suitable if your priority is a large touchscreen or a watch for diving and snorkeling. Before choosing between Horizon and a conventional touchscreen smartwatch, compare the display interaction, locally available health features, water-use guidance, battery claims, size, phone requirements, and current price; the available specifications do not establish an overall winner.
