As of October 3, 2026, Zcash (ZEC) was above $1,000 in the latest available observations: CoinGecko listed an October 2 daily close of $1,301.16, and ZecStats showed a live quote of $1,299.09 at 15:46 UTC on October 3. That confirms the threshold was intact at those times; it cannot establish whether ZEC will remain above $1,000 for the rest of October.

What the latest prices say

The latest completed daily close in CoinGecko’s retrieved data was $1,301.16 on October 2, 2026. CoinGecko had not yet posted a completed October 3 close. Separately, ZecStats displayed a live price of $1,299.09 at 15:46 UTC on October 3, down 5.4% over the preceding 24 hours. These are different kinds of observations: one is a completed daily close and the other a timestamped live snapshot. CoinGecko; ZecStats.

Both observations were above $1,000, but neither predicts the price on October 31. Cryptocurrency prices can move materially between snapshots, so a claim that ZEC will “hold” the level through the month remains a forecast, not a confirmed outcome.

What a 90-day forecast suggests—and what it cannot answer

CryptoSlate’s model, published with an October 2 reference close and accessed October 3, presents probability-based terminal estimates over 90 days. Its bullish P80 estimate is $2,057, with a P70–P90 corridor of $1,694–$2,960. Its bearish P20 estimate is $790, with a P10–P30 corridor of $641–$941. The bearish estimate and its stated corridor are below $1,000; the model therefore does not imply that the threshold is secure. CryptoSlate’s Zcash forecast.

The 90-day horizon extends beyond October, and the distribution describes modeled scenarios rather than a guarantee. It is not a direct answer to whether ZEC will finish October above $1,000. A useful forecast comparison needs the reference price and date, target horizon, quantiles and intervals—not just a bullish point estimate.

Is the 1,077% rally figure verified?

The available sources do not establish the baseline date, endpoint, or calculation behind the title’s exact 1,077% figure. It should not be treated as a verified return without those dates and the underlying price data. ZecStats separately reports a +920.3% one-year return in USD as of October 3, 2026, and a +810.4% return for calendar year 2025. Those are distinct measurement windows and neither confirms a 1,077% gain. ZecStats.

When comparing ZEC’s performance with Bitcoin or Ethereum, use the same currency, timestamps, and return period. A percentage return measured in USD is not interchangeable with relative performance against another cryptocurrency.

Supply and shielded use provide context, not a price floor

A June 2026 filing hosted by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission describes Zcash’s Equihash proof-of-work, periodic subsidy halvings, and maximum supply of 21 million ZEC. It notes that the most recent halving was in 2024. These protocol supply features do not set a minimum market price or show that ZEC will stay above a particular threshold. The filing is by a market participant, not a CFTC finding that an investment or price target is suitable or likely. CFTC filing.

ZecStats reported about 29.1% of issued ZEC in shielded pools on October 3, 2026. That is a measure of shielded-pool use, not evidence that privacy demand caused the rally or will support a particular price. The relationship between shielded use and a potential privacy premium remains a thesis rather than an established price effect. ZecStats.

What to watch for the October outcome

  • Check dated price observations through the month, distinguishing completed daily closes from live quotes.
  • Compare any return figures over the same currency and time window; do not use a one-year result to imply an October outcome.
  • Check a forecast’s reference date, target date, and probability range. A 90-day model should not be read as an October-only prediction.
  • Look for the original start and end dates behind the 1,077% claim before repeating it as a sourced statistic.

The Zcash Foundation’s Q1 2026 report describes the protocol as decentralized and open source and discusses ecosystem changes, including departures from Electric Coin Company. Those organizational developments provide background, but the report does not establish a price effect. Zcash Foundation.
