The “up to 38% off” claim refers to a TP-Link Archer GE800 offer reported on September 6, 2025—not a deal verified as available now. HotHardware then listed it at $369.99, $230 below MSRP. Because router prices and stock change, that historical price should not be treated as a current offer.
Is the TP-Link Archer GE800 still 38% off?
There is no verified current deal price in the available retailer information. The 38% figure belongs to HotHardware’s September 6, 2025 report, which put the Archer GE800 at $369.99 and described that price as $230 below MSRP. It is historical, not confirmation of today’s price or stock. Read the dated HotHardware roundup.

A retailer’s Wi-Fi 7 category page can show products and changing listings, but does not establish a specific model’s current selling price, inventory, seller, or discount baseline. Check those details on the actual listing before buying; the discount is meaningful only when its reference price is clear.
What the Archer GE800 offers
TP-Link classifies the Archer GE800 as a BE19000 tri-band Wi-Fi 7 gaming router. Its specifications list theoretical maximum wireless rates of 11,520 Mbps on 6 GHz, 5,760 Mbps on 5 GHz, and 1,376 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. These are not expected internet speeds: actual throughput and coverage depend on factors including the client device, internet service, network, building, and environment. The router has two 10 Gbps WAN/LAN ports, four 2.5 Gbps LAN ports, and one USB 3.0 port. WAN/LAN ports can serve either role, depending on the network setup; do not count them as dedicated LAN ports in every configuration. A 10 Gbps internet connection also requires compatible service and equipment.
Wi-Fi 7 features such as Multi-Link Operation (MLO) require compatible client devices. TP-Link says 320 MHz channel bandwidth is available only on 6 GHz and may be unavailable in some regions because of regulatory restrictions. Owning a Wi-Fi 7 router alone does not give older phones, computers, or other clients those capabilities.

Which kind of Wi-Fi 7 system fits your home?
| Option | What it provides | Best fit | What to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dual-band router | 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz; no 6 GHz band in the NETGEAR Nighthawk RS180 description in the 2025 roundup | Shoppers prioritizing a lower-cost single router who do not need 6 GHz | Current price and stock; wired ports; whether your devices need a 6 GHz band |
| Tri-band router | Three bands; the Archer GE800 uses 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz | Homes with compatible 6 GHz clients or a use for the router’s additional connectivity and wired ports | Current price; regional 6 GHz rules; client compatibility; port configuration |
| Mesh kit | Multiple units designed to extend connectivity across a home | Homes where a single router’s placement does not serve all areas well | Number of included units, current price, wired backhaul options, and compatibility before adding extensions |
The 2025 roundup also named the NETGEAR Orbi 770 and TP-Link Deco BE63 as mesh systems. Their reported prices are historical and are not included here as live offers. Consult the original roundup for its dated product list, then verify current listings before comparing costs.
How to evaluate a Wi-Fi 7 router deal
- Confirm the live offer. Check the retailer, seller, stock status, selling price, reference price, and date. A category search page alone is not enough to substantiate a model-specific deal.
- Match the bands to your devices. A dual-band router omits 6 GHz; a tri-band model may include it. The benefit depends on compatible clients and regional availability, not just the Wi-Fi 7 label.
- Choose router or mesh based on layout. A standalone router and a multi-unit mesh kit solve different coverage problems. Treat advertised coverage as an estimate, not a guarantee for your building.
- Check wired connections and internet service. Compare the number and speed of WAN/LAN and LAN ports with the devices you will connect. A high wireless rating cannot make an internet plan or wired link faster than its own capacity.
- Weigh features against your use. Gaming-oriented controls and ports may suit a particular setup, but they do not establish guaranteed lower latency. Consider your devices, layout, and wired needs alongside the price.
Why Wi-Fi 7’s headline speed is not your expected speed
Manufacturer maximum rates describe theoretical wireless links under supported conditions; they are not a promise of measured throughput to a particular device. Performance varies with client capability, distance, interference, building materials, network configuration, and the internet connection. The Archer GE800’s combined BE19000 rating and per-band figures should therefore be read as specification labels, not as a forecast of a household speed test.
