Philips trimmers do not all use the same charger. The brand alone cannot tell you whether one charger will work with both devices: Philips products may use USB cables, chargers with integrated wall plugs, charging stands or replaceable batteries. Because the two trimmer model numbers are not specified here, their exact replacement parts and cross-compatibility cannot be confirmed.
Why the chargers may not match
Philips uses more than one charging arrangement across its groomers, trimmers and clippers. Two devices bought two years apart might have different charging methods or device-side connectors, but the purchase dates alone do not establish why their chargers differ. Philips explains that charging instructions vary by product and directs owners to the manual or support information for the exact model (Philips: How do I charge my Philips groomer, trimmer or clipper?, published 20 November 2025).
A charger also has separate parts to consider: the cable or plug that connects to the trimmer, and—on USB-charged devices—the wall adapter that supplies power to the cable. Replacing the adapter will not fix a mismatch at the trimmer end.
How to identify the correct charger
- Find the full model number for each trimmer. Check the device, packaging or purchase record. For OneBlade, Philips says the model can be found on the handle, packaging or receipt (Philips charging guidance).
- Look up each model separately. Use its Philips manual or model-specific support page to identify the charging method and compatible accessories. Philips recommends checking those product-specific instructions rather than assuming that chargers are interchangeable.
- Record the charger or cable part number. Compare it with the replacement-parts list for the matching trimmer. For a USB-charged model, confirm both the device-side cable and the wall adapter requirements.
- Confirm the listed compatibility before buying. A connector that appears to fit is not enough to establish that a charger is appropriate for the device.
Can one Philips charger work with both trimmers?
Possibly, but the available information cannot establish that for these two devices without their model numbers. Philips lists CP1788 as a USB charging cable for selected compatible products and says it is suitable only for USB-charged devices; it is not a universal Philips trimmer cable (Philips CP1788 USB charging cable). Check the current compatibility list for your region and exact model before choosing it.

Philips identifies HQ87 as a USB wall adapter for grooming and beauty products that use a USB charging cable (Philips HQ87 USB wall adapter). That identifies an adapter, not the cable that connects to the trimmer, and it does not prove that two trimmers share the same device-side connector.
For OneBlade specifically, Philips advises using the original charger supplied with the applicable model and warns that a charger may be incompatible if it does not fit (Philips: The charger of my Philips OneBlade does not fit). This is OneBlade-specific guidance, not a blanket rule for every Philips trimmer.

Check adapter specifications carefully
Philips’s OneBlade guidance describes a suitable USB wall adapter as accepting 100–240 V input and providing 5 V output at 1 A or higher. It also notes that splash-proof protection matters when the adapter is used in a humid bathroom (Philips: What adapter can I use to charge my Philips OneBlade?). These are specifications for OneBlade guidance; do not apply them to an unidentified trimmer unless its own manual or support information confirms them.

- Do not buy a cable based only on the Philips name, purchase date or a connector that looks similar.
- Compare both full model numbers with Philips manuals and accessory listings, and check whether each device uses USB, an integrated-plug charger, a stand or batteries.
- If Philips’s listing does not clearly include the model, contact Philips support with the model number and the part number printed on the existing charger or cable.
Until both model numbers are checked against Philips’s instructions and accessory information, no exact replacement part or safe cross-compatible charger can be identified.
