In 2024, reports said TECNO and Xiaomi Pakistan had disavowed PriceOye.pk as an authorized sales channel and urged trade partners not to source their phones there. Their stated concerns involved authorization, pricing and phones sourced for other regions. Those reports do not establish that every phone PriceOye sells is counterfeit or defective. For buyers, the practical question is whether a specific phone has the right Pakistan variant, PTA status, and warranty that the manufacturer will honor.
What did TECNO and Xiaomi Pakistan say about PriceOye?
Daily Ausaf reported on May 18, 2024, that TECNO Mobile Pakistan said it was not affiliated with, authorized by, endorsed by, or officially connected to PriceOye.pk. The report said TECNO raised concerns about price-cutting and TECNO stock sourced across regions, and advised its wholesalers and retailers not to provide or buy TECNO stock through the platform. TECNO’s quoted statement said the aim was to protect dealer profitability and market stability. Daily Ausaf’s report.
TechJuice later reported that Xiaomi Pakistan likewise said PriceOye was not an authorized Xiaomi partner. It reported Xiaomi’s allegations of price manipulation and cross-region stock, its appeal to wholesalers and retailers to stop buying or selling Xiaomi stock through the platform, and its intention to conduct mystery shopping and trace IMEI numbers. TechJuice’s report.

What does cross-region stock mean?
A phone made for sale in one market may be offered in another through a channel the manufacturer has not approved for that destination. Such stock is often called cross-region or grey-market stock. The term describes the sales route or intended market; it does not, by itself, prove that a device is counterfeit. But regional differences can matter to a buyer: warranty coverage, included accessories, software or network compatibility, and the process for obtaining service may differ. The reports do not identify the region or exact model of each phone involved, so buyers should verify those details for the specific listing.
Does PriceOye provide an official brand warranty?
PriceOye’s Warranty Policy states: “All the mobile phones sold at PriceOye.pk are backed by a 1-year brand warranty unless specified.” It says the warranty can be claimed at an authorized brand warranty center anywhere in Pakistan.

That is PriceOye’s published policy, not confirmation that a particular Xiaomi or TECNO model will be accepted by the manufacturer’s Pakistan service network. Before ordering, ask for written confirmation tied to the exact model and variant, and verify the warranty route with the brand or an authorized service center. Keep the listing and seller’s warranty confirmation with your receipt in case the terms differ from what was advertised.
How do PTA status, IMEI and the return policy affect the purchase?
PTA approval and warranty are separate checks. A phone’s stated warranty does not by itself establish that its IMEI is registered or that it can be used on Pakistani mobile networks without restrictions. Confirm the exact device’s PTA status and IMEI through the relevant official channels before relying on a listing’s description.

PriceOye’s Return Policy says claims generally must be made within three days of receipt. It identifies non-PTA, seal-broken, already-activated, repacked and damaged phones among relevant mobile-phone return cases. Read the policy before ordering and preserve the packaging. On delivery, inspect the seal and device promptly, check for signs of prior activation or damage, and contact the seller within the stated window if something is wrong.
Pakistan’s Associated Press reported on July 27, 2024, that PTA advised smartphone buyers to be cautious of cloned or duplicate devices, check that phones are packaged, contact the seller, and report fraud to the FIA. That guidance is a general safety checklist; it is not an allegation that PriceOye’s phones are cloned. Associated Press of Pakistan’s report.

How to check a Xiaomi Redmi phone before buying
- Confirm the exact model and regional variant. Ask the seller to identify the Pakistan-market variant and whether it is intended for sale in Pakistan. Do not treat a product listing or its appearance on PriceOye’s shop page as proof of Xiaomi Pakistan authorization.
- Get the warranty terms in writing. Ask whether the specific model has a Pakistan brand warranty, where it can be claimed, and whether an authorized Xiaomi service center will accept it. Verify the answer with the brand or service center rather than relying only on a general site-wide warranty statement.
- Check PTA and IMEI status. Confirm the device’s IMEI and PTA status using official verification channels. If the seller cannot provide a clear way to verify the exact device, pause the purchase.
- Inspect the delivery immediately. Check that the package is sealed and undamaged. Compare the device and packaging details, and look for signs that it has been activated or repacked. Contact the seller promptly if the phone does not match the listing or arrives damaged.
- Compare the purchase protections. For PriceOye and any authorized retailer or manufacturer channel, compare authorization, regional variant, PTA and IMEI traceability, seal and activation condition, warranty-center acceptance, return terms, price, delivery and after-sales support. There is no sound basis to name a universal winner without current, model-specific evidence.
So, should you buy a Xiaomi phone from PriceOye?
The 2024 reports are a reason to verify the channel and the individual phone, not proof that every PriceOye Xiaomi listing is unsafe. Buy only if you can confirm the exact variant, PTA status, intact and unactivated condition, applicable return terms, and a warranty path accepted by an authorized service center in Pakistan. If any of those points cannot be confirmed, choosing a manufacturer-authorized seller may reduce uncertainty.
