During X’s July 2023 rebrand rollout, visitors to x.com did not all reach the same place: some saw a GoDaddy parking page, some reached Twitter, and others encountered an error. Futurism reported the inconsistent results on July 24, 2023, but did not establish what caused them.
What visitors saw
Futurism reported that x.com produced different outcomes for different visitors during the rollout. Some were redirected to a GoDaddy landing page displaying the text “X.com is parked free, courtesy of GoDaddy.com.” Others reached Twitter, while some encountered an error. The quoted wording was text on the page, not a statement attributed to a GoDaddy spokesperson.
The report described an inconsistent user experience; it did not provide a statistic quantifying how many people saw each result.
Why did x.com show a GoDaddy page?
The available report documents what some visitors saw but does not establish the technical cause. It does not verify whether DNS caching, configuration, propagation, or another mechanism produced the different results. Nor does it report that GoDaddy took action against X. The parking-page text alone is not evidence of why it appeared.

Was this a current problem?
No conclusion about x.com’s present-day routing follows from this historical report. Futurism’s article was published on July 24, 2023, during the rebrand rollout; it was not a later check of the site’s status. The reported GoDaddy page should therefore be understood as an incident some visitors experienced at that time, not as a claim that x.com still shows it.
