Dominik Szoboszlai was taken off during Hungary’s 1–0 win over Georgia because of cramp and fatigue, according to a report relaying Hungary coach Marco Rossi’s explanation. The report does not confirm a separate injury diagnosis or say whether Szoboszlai would be available for Hungary’s next match.
Why was Szoboszlai taken off?
RotoWire reported that Szoboszlai was withdrawn as a precaution in the second half after suffering cramp. The report attributed the explanation to Hungary coach Marco Rossi, via Liverpool Echo reporter Paul Gorst.
Rossi was quoted as saying: “He cramped and was very tired by the end. He did huge sprints, I don’t even know how fast he was capable of, but he was very fast.” His explanation connects the substitution with tiredness after substantial sprinting.
Was Szoboszlai injured against Georgia?
The reported issue was cramp, not a confirmed injury diagnosis. The account does not include a medical assessment from Hungary or Liverpool, so it does not establish that Szoboszlai sustained a more serious injury.

Will Szoboszlai be fit for the next game?
The report provides no medical update or confirmation of his availability for Hungary’s next match. Cramp and fatigue alone do not establish a recovery timeline; a later update from the team would be needed to confirm whether he can play.
What happened in the match?
Szoboszlai was representing Hungary, not Liverpool, when he was withdrawn. Hungary won 1–0 against Georgia, according to the report.
