First identify what is speaking: Spanish program audio, spoken narration while you use the TV menus, or Spanish text on the screen. Each has a different control. For Vizio TVs, start with the audio settings for the source you are watching or turn off Talk Back if the TV is reading settings aloud; menu paths and labels vary by model.
Identify what is in Spanish
- Only a show or channel sounds Spanish: The program may have a Spanish audio track selected. The fix depends on whether you are watching a TV channel, a streaming app, or an attached device.
- The TV speaks while you navigate settings: This is likely Talk Back, Vizio’s text-to-speech feature for TV settings changes.
- Menu labels appear in Spanish: Change the on-screen display (OSD) language. This changes menu text, not the spoken language of a show.
If a TV channel’s program audio is Spanish
For a digital channel on the 2022 Vizio V-Series interface, open Menu > TV Channels > Digital Audio and select an available language or audio option. The channel or program determines which tracks are offered, so English may not be available. The path and wording are not universal: a legacy Vizio E43C2 manual calls the digital setting “Digital Language” and puts it under “Channels.” See the 2022 V-Series User Manual and E43C2 User Manual.
For an analog channel using SAP
On the V-Series interface, go to Menu > TV Channels > Analog Audio and choose the desired option; select Stereo rather than SAP if you do not want the alternate audio. SAP means Secondary Audio Programming. Vizio’s 2022 V-Series User Manual says its Analog Audio feature lets viewers hear alternate-language audio using SAP, and warns it works only when the program is broadcast with SAP. If the broadcaster does not provide an English track, changing this setting cannot create one. The M55Q7-H1 User Manual also describes SAP and digital-language availability.
If the TV reads settings aloud
Open Menu > Accessibility and turn off Talk Back. Vizio describes Talk Back as text-to-speech for TV setting changes, making it the likely setting when speech accompanies menu navigation rather than ordinary program playback. Vizio lists remote shortcuts as well: supported voice remotes may accept “Disable Talk Back,” and remotes with a PIC button may toggle text-to-speech by holding PIC for five seconds. If Spanish appears in the menus
Change the TV’s OSD or menu language in its settings. The exact path and available choices depend on the model. For example, Vizio’s M43Q6M-K04 model information page lists English, Spanish, and French as OSD language choices; that list should not be assumed to apply to every Vizio TV.
To find the right instructions, check the model number on the TV’s label or in its system information screen, then look up that exact model on Vizio Support and open its manual. A menu option named “Digital Language” on one generation may appear as “Digital Audio” on another.

If Spanish audio is only in an app or on an attached device
When the issue occurs only in one streaming app, open that app’s audio or language-track controls while the program is playing. For an HDMI-connected device, check the device’s own audio settings. A soundbar or external source can make it less obvious which device controls the track; note whether the problem occurs on the TV tuner, in one app, or only through that device, then adjust the source where it occurs. There is no single Vizio menu path established for all third-party apps and connected devices.

Vizio menu names and locations vary by generation and software. Use the model number and its matching manual rather than assuming every Vizio TV has the same controls. If the documented path is missing, look up the exact model on Vizio Support to locate its manual. Start by changing the relevant language or Talk Back setting; a factory reset is not the first step for a language-selection problem.
