Start by looking for the transaction ID (TxId) in the wallet or exchange that sent your ADA, then search that ID in a Cardano explorer. A “pending” label is an app or provider status; by itself, it does not prove the transaction was submitted to Cardano or included in a block. What the explorer shows—and what the receiving service has credited—are separate parts of the check.
How to check an ADA transaction
- Open the sending wallet or exchange withdrawal record. Copy the TxId if one is shown. Cardano describes a transaction lifecycle of creation, signing, and submission; the sender must authorize it, and it must be submitted to be reflected in the ledger. Cardano Docs explains this in its transaction tutorials.
- Search the TxId in a Cardano explorer. Cardano’s tracking-tools guidance says explorers can search by transaction ID and show block information and confirmations.
- Compare the explorer result with the sending app and recipient service. Note whether the explorer finds the transaction, whether it shows block inclusion and confirmation depth, whether the sender reports an error, and whether the recipient has credited the deposit.
If the sending app does not provide a TxId, the available evidence does not establish that the transaction reached the public chain. Check the app’s submission result and any displayed error. If the status remains unclear, contact the wallet or exchange support team before attempting another send; retry behavior depends on the provider and should not be guessed.
What the explorer result means
TxId found, but no block inclusion is shown
Report what the explorer actually displays and check again according to the wallet or provider’s guidance. A transaction’s submission to a node and its later distribution between nodes are distinct steps. Cardano Docs describes its local submission protocol this way: “The client sends a request with a single transaction” and “The server either accepts the transaction (returning a confirmation), or rejects it (returning the reason).” One explorer display without block inclusion is not, on its own, proof of a confirmed failure. Block inclusion and confirmation depth are related, but neither is necessarily the same as a receiving service’s internal settlement or deposit status. Cardano Docs distinguishes transaction confirmation and depth from chain confirmation and stability; as more blocks build on the transaction’s block, the likelihood of immutability increases. The sending wallet or node reports an error
Keep the exact error text, along with the TxId if available. Cardano’s troubleshooting reference is aimed at node and command-line users. If you use a consumer wallet or exchange, give the message to its support team rather than trying CLI commands or rebuilding a transaction based on a developer diagnostic.
Why an ADA transaction may stay pending
The label can refer to different stages. The comparison below helps separate a sender-side status from on-chain inclusion and recipient credit.

Technical error clues to share with support
These terms come from an Input Output Hong Kong Cardano node troubleshooting reference. They are clues a support agent may recognize, not universal explanations for a consumer app’s “pending” label or instructions to construct and resubmit a transaction.

Fees, confirmation depth, and waiting
Cardano Docs gives the minimum-fee formula as a * size(tx) + b, where a and b are protocol parameters and size(tx) is the transaction size in bytes. Its fee structure and protocol parameters reference guide explain that fee parameters can be updated. Use the estimate shown by your wallet; an explicit fee or validation error is best handled with the provider that produced it.

The official material does not establish one universal wait time or confirmation count for every ADA transaction and destination. Confirmation depth relates to the chain’s increasing stability, while an exchange, wallet, or merchant may apply its own deposit or settlement rules. Check both the explorer and the recipient service’s policy rather than treating a fixed delay as a guarantee.
