Fandom has a mobile web layout and an official app, but neither guarantees that every wiki page will be easy to use on a phone. Some page types still use the desktop layout, and community-designed tables, columns, infoboxes, or other formatting can be awkward at a narrow screen width. Start by checking the page layout switch and your browser’s desktop-site setting; if the page itself is the problem, compare views or try the app, then report accessibility or ad issues with specific details.
Why some Fandom pages are awkward on a phone
Not every page has a mobile layout
Fandom says its layout is intended to adapt to device size, but some page types do not support a mobile layout. Its example is User pages, which always display in the desktop layout. So a page that looks like a small desktop site may be behaving as Fandom designed for that page type, rather than indicating that your phone is unsupported. Fandom Support explains which layout is available and how to switch.
Page formatting varies by wiki and author
Ordinary pages built mainly from text and images generally fit mobile screens more gracefully than complex layouts. Fandom warns that multi-column pages and other elaborate designs may display less well on mobile; its mobile documentation also covers elements such as infoboxes, galleries, tables, and navigation. Individual communities create and maintain much of their own content, so one page’s problems do not establish how every Fandom wiki will look. Fandom’s mobile design documentation describes the platform’s mobile design work, not an independent usability test.
Browser state, accessibility, ads, and loading can add friction
A phone browser can request a desktop version of a site. That setting can make a page appear cramped even when a mobile layout exists. Accessibility barriers and ads can also interrupt reading, while behavior may vary by browser, assistive technology, location, and session. Fandom’s accessibility statement identifies platform issues and notes that user-generated content can introduce additional barriers. Fandom’s accessibility statement lists examples and provides a route to report barriers.

Switch between mobile and desktop layouts
-
Open the bottom of the Fandom page and look for View mobile site or View full site. The wording depends on which layout you are currently seeing.
-
Tap the offered link to compare the other layout. Fandom says it remembers this choice. Its support page, updated April 3, 2023, says: “You can switch between the mobile and desktop layouts of Fandom via a link at the very bottom of the page.”

If the page still looks like a desktop page, open your browser’s site or page menu and check whether Request desktop site (or a similarly named setting) is enabled. Turn it off for Fandom, then reload the page. Browser labels vary, so use the menu for the browser you have.

If the page is a type without a mobile layout, such as a User page, switching cannot create a mobile version that does not exist. You can still compare views, but expect that page to remain desktop-style.

When tables, columns, or custom formatting are hard to read
Try the layout switch to see whether the alternate view makes the content easier to scan. This is a comparison, not a guaranteed fix: Fandom cautions that complex layouts, particularly multiple columns, may render less gracefully on mobile, and the page’s community-specific formatting remains a factor. For a specific page, judge whether its text, table cells, infobox, gallery, and section navigation are usable at your screen width rather than assuming all pages on that wiki share the same issue.
Decide whether to use the app or browser
Fandom offers an app for Android and iOS as another way to access its wikis. Fandom’s mobile page links to its app options. Treat it as an alternative route, not a promise that every page or usability issue will be fixed. Reviews in the Apple App Store include individual reports about text scaling, navigation, cookie prompts, and loading; those are reader anecdotes, not measurements of how often problems occur or proof that the same issue will affect your device. The App Store listing and reviews are subjective and may change over time.

Compare the browser and app on the actual wiki and task you need. Check whether the page is legible, whether you can navigate to sections and return as expected, and whether wiki-local search works for you. If assistive technology is part of your setup, include that combination in the comparison.

Accessibility or navigation barrier
If keyboard navigation, labels, contrast, alt text, or your assistive technology is blocked, report the specific page and what you could not do through Fandom’s contact route. Fandom’s accessibility statement, updated April 9, 2026, says “Some areas cannot be navigated exclusively using keyboard inputs” and “Some buttons may be missing names and labels.” It also notes possible contrast issues and missing alt text; user-generated content can create further barriers. Include the browser, device, and assistive technology involved so the issue can be understood in context.

Ad that interrupts reading
For a problematic ad, Fandom asks readers to provide the community or wiki, details about the ad, why it is problematic, the operating system, and country. A screenshot and the ad URL can help when available. Fandom says ads are geo-targeted and a report may be reviewed, so include the location and circumstances of the specific interruption rather than assuming the same ad appears to everyone. Use Fandom’s contact page to send the report.
