Divya Khossla criticized what she saw as the use of religion for a personal agenda after actor Govinda and his co-star Komal Rani Swarnkar visited Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja. The red mark visible near Rani’s forehead and hair parting prompted speculation that it was sindoor, but the available reports do not establish what the mark was or how it got there.

What happened at Lalbaugcha Raja?

The Times of India and The Indian Express reported that Govinda and Komal Rani Swarnkar visited Lalbaugcha Raja on September 22, 2026. Reports described a red mark around Rani’s forehead and hair parting after the pair sought blessings at the pandal. Some viewers interpreted it as sindoor; other coverage suggested it could have been a mark connected with ritual activity there. The cause has not been confirmed.

That distinction matters: the mark’s appearance prompted online speculation, but it does not establish a marriage, a romantic relationship, or anyone’s intention. The Times of India and The Indian Express reported on the visit and the competing interpretations.

Why did Divya Khossla criticize the appearance of the mark?

Khossla questioned how the mark appeared and objected to what she characterized as religion being used for a personal agenda. The Indian Express reproduced her line: “Atleast stop using our religion for your agenda.” She also expressed disappointment with celebrities who, in her view, supported the conduct she criticized.

IS4A Ashtadhatu Kuber Kubera Vaisravana Ekaksipingala Raja Statue Idol Gold Polish (Large 4.5 Inch)
  • 100% ORGINAL Kuber Statue, Kuber Idol
  • Lord Kubera, also known as Kuber, Kuvera and Dhanpati, is worshipped as the God of Wealth by Hindus. He is known as the Treasurer of Gods who showers riches on those who worship Him with utmost devotion.
  • A benevolent, fair-complexioned divine being of short stature and a pot belly is how Kubera is usually depicted. The meaning of name is believed by some to indicate 'deformed' or 'unpleasant' as His iconography reveals but He is known to keenly shower riches on those who please Him as well as distribute wealth justly to the needy by scattering it from the magic He flies in.
  • Though His name is not mentioned recurrently and is chiefly conspicuous in the epic Ramayana, He is indisputably an important deity whose presence figures in a number of legends of Hindu mythology.
  • His worship is also widely observed in Buddhism and Jainism.

These comments reflect Khossla’s interpretation of the episode. The reporting does not independently establish Rani’s intention or confirm that the mark was sindoor. Nor does it establish a universal religious rule about the mark; Khossla’s characterization should be understood as her own statement.
