If your Nothing Phone (4a) screen protector is lifting at an edge, first remove the case and check whether it is pushing against the protector. Dust or residue, misalignment, or a protector that does not fit the phone’s usable screen area can also interrupt contact. These are sensible checks, not confirmed defects of the Phone (4a); Nothing does not identify a model-specific cause.
What Nothing confirms about the Phone (4a)
Nothing’s Phone (4a) support information lists the device as 163.8 mm high, 77.45 mm wide, and 8.55 mm deep, and says a screen protector is pre-applied in the box. Nothing notes that actual size and weight may vary with manufacturing and measurement methods.
Those specifications can help distinguish the exact model when shopping for a replacement, but they do not establish that the display edges are curved or warped. Nothing also does not specify the supplied protector’s adhesive construction or name a replacement brand.
Why an edge may lift
- Case pressure: A case lip can contact the protector and push its edge upward. Removing the case is the quickest way to check this possibility.
- Contamination: Dust, a hair, a fingerprint, or residue between the protector and glass can prevent continuous contact.
- Alignment or coverage: A shifted protector, or one whose shape does not suit the usable screen area, may lift near an edge or where it meets a case.
Huawei’s general guidance on bubbles and protector fit mentions curved display surfaces as one possible factor and recommends choosing a protector matched to the device. That guidance is not evidence that the Phone (4a) has a curved display. Likewise, a Nothing Community discussion of case-related bubbles on other models is anecdotal and does not establish the cause on this phone.

How to troubleshoot edge lift
- Remove the case. Check whether it touches the lifted edge or whether the edge settles once the case is off. If the case is the source of pressure, use a case with more clearance around the protector.
- Inspect the lifted spot. Look for a visible speck, hair, fingerprint, or residue. Avoid pressing hard on a glass edge: pressure will not remove a particle underneath and may damage the protector or screen.
- Decide whether to refit or replace. Follow the phone and protector makers’ instructions for cleaning and drying the glass before fitting anything. If the adhesive may have picked up dust or residue, repeatedly lifting and reseating the protector can make the fit worse.
- Choose a replacement for the exact model. Search for “Nothing Phone (4a) screen protector,” not a Phone (4a) Pro protector or one for another Nothing phone. Nothing confirms that a protector is supplied, but does not guarantee the fit of any third-party product.
- Check case clearance after fitting. Align the protector carefully, then make sure the case does not overlap or push against its edges.
What to compare when choosing a replacement
- Exact model compatibility: Confirm the listing explicitly names the Nothing Phone (4a).
- Edge coverage and case clearance: Consider whether the protector’s shape leaves room for the case lip rather than being pushed by it.
- Material and installation method: Check what the product is made of and how the seller says it should be installed.
- Fit or replacement policy: Review the seller’s terms in case the protector does not fit as expected.
No particular third-party protector or product-specific edge-lift performance is established here, so a model label alone should not be treated as a guarantee of fit.
When to contact Nothing
Stop experimenting and contact Nothing support if an exact-model protector repeatedly lifts at the same spot with the case removed, or if the exposed display glass looks visibly uneven. Take clear photos of the area and describe what you checked. Nothing lists Phone (4a) among its support contact options; the available information does not establish a known Phone (4a) defect or a particular warranty outcome.

Avoid household glue, unapproved UV adhesive, or forceful pressure on a rigid glass edge. These are not established repairs for this problem and can risk damage.
