A former vendor at Kissimmee’s World Food Trucks says a lease-renewal dispute ended with only hours to move her truck after she declined new terms. The disagreement also involved her point-of-sale (POS) system: she told WKMG News 6 that a manager asked for access to it as a way to calculate rent. The park disputes her account of a proposed 60-percent term and says vendors pay fixed weekly rent, not a percentage of food sales.
What happened at World Food Trucks?
WKMG News 6 / ClickOrlando reported on October 2, 2026, that Gabriella Santos had operated Los Cipotes at the Kissimmee food truck park for about a decade. Santos said that during a lease-renewal discussion she declined the new terms and was then given only hours to move her truck. She described the deadline as midnight.
That is Santos’s account as reported by WKMG, not a court finding. The article does not provide the complete proposed lease, a written notice to vacate, or the park’s full chronology. It therefore does not establish the exact contractual deadline or whether it could be enforced.

Santos told WKMG that a manager requested access to her point-of-sale system during the renewal conversation and linked that access to determining rent. Recalling the exchange, Santos said: “She said wanted access to the POS, and I said ‘Why do you need access to that?’” Santos said. “’Oh it’s because that’s how we’re going to balance how much your rent is going to be.’”

The report presents this as Santos’s recollection. It does not publish a written policy requiring vendors to provide POS access or independently establish the manager’s intent. A request to inspect sales records and a claim that rent is calculated as a share of sales are also distinct: access to a sales system, by itself, does not show how the rent was set.
Did the park demand 60 percent of her sales?
Not according to Santos’s later clarification. She said the figure described how she felt the proposed terms would affect her business, rather than a literal demand for 60 percent of her sales: “I never said that,” she said. “What I said was that they wanted 60 percent of my business because that’s how I feel. That’s my personal feeling of what you’re doing to me. You’re taking my profits.”

World Food Trucks rejected the claim as characterized in the dispute. Its statement to WKMG began, “That claim is completely false.” The park also said: “Our vendors pay a fixed weekly rent, rather than a percentage of their food sales, and we remain committed to clear communication with our vendor community.” The complete proposed lease is not reproduced in the report, so the competing descriptions cannot be reconciled from the published account alone.
What other concerns did Santos raise?
Santos also criticized what she described as safety concerns, rising operating costs, new fees, out-of-pocket event costs, and declining sales as more trucks joined the park. Those are her criticisms; the report does not independently audit the costs, sales trend, or safety conditions. WKMG said her post drew millions of views and prompted online boycott calls, but gave no precise view count or independent assessment of the effect on the park.

World Food Trucks, in its statement quoted by WKMG, said it respects vendors’ right to share their experiences and believes disagreements deserve respectful conversation and accurate information. It described more than 100 businesses as making the park possible; that number is the park’s statement, not an independently verified count.
What can the available records establish?
The published account documents what Santos said and includes the park’s response. It does not include the contract, a detailed account from the manager, a legal decision, or evidence of whether either side has taken legal action. It does not settle whether the reported POS request, lease terms, or midnight deadline were legally enforceable.

Florida law and food-vendor permitting do not resolve that private contract dispute. Florida Statutes § 509.101 says operators of public lodging and public food service establishments may establish reasonable rules for their establishments, with specified posting requirements; it does not decide whether this park could inspect a vendor’s POS system or enforce the terms Santos described. The Florida statute should not be treated as a ruling on this lease.
Permit rules are a separate issue. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services says it regulates certain mobile food establishments, while mobile vendors providing food service are permitted by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Which agency applies depends on the operation. FDACS also says its program’s permits renew annually and that ownership or location changes may require a new application, inspection, and documentation, subject to an exception for mobile vendors not operating at a fixed location. Vendors should confirm their regulator and circumstances with the agency; FDACS’s mobile food establishment guidance is not specific advice about Santos’s truck.

What should vendors check before renewing a park agreement?
This dispute does not establish common practice across food truck parks. A vendor reviewing any agreement can, however, look closely at the written terms that determine how rent, records, and departure work:
- Rent formula: Is rent fixed, tied to sales, or subject to additional charges? If sales affect the bill, how are they defined and calculated?
- POS and records: What data can the park request, who can access it, for what purpose, and under what safeguards?
- Fees and events: Which fees, event expenses, and other costs are mandatory, and who must pay them?
- Notice and cure: How much notice is required for a breach or termination, and is there time to correct a problem?
- Ending the agreement: What happens to remaining-term payments, and when may a vendor relocate the truck?
Those questions are prompts for reviewing an actual contract, not claims about the undisclosed terms Santos received. A qualified commercial attorney can assess the written agreement and local circumstances.
