Troy Baker voices Higgs Monaghan in Death Stranding. Higgs is an adversary to protagonist Sam Porter Bridges, and Baker has also played characters including Joel in The Last of Us and Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite. The roles below are a selection, not a complete list.
Who is Higgs in Death Stranding?
Kojima Productions describes Higgs as the “Man in the Golden Mask,” the leader of Homo Demens and an opposing force to Sam. Baker characterized Higgs’s role in the story as a counterpoint to Sam: a source of doubt who makes the danger of the world feel immediate. He described approaching the part by asking questions, listening, and trusting the creative team to shape his performance.
In a July 1, 2022 interview with Kojima Productions, Baker also discussed performing in different formats, from recording in a booth with a microphone to working on a performance-capture stage.
