As of February 11, 2026, Stuart Miller was Lennar’s largest disclosed principal stockholder by class, with 21,851,560 Class B shares, or 70.2% of that class. That is not 70.2% of all Lennar shares: Class A and Class B have different voting rights, and the proxy’s beneficial-ownership figures do not necessarily equal economic interests. The figures below come from Lennar’s 2026 proxy statement and are a dated snapshot, not a live shareholder register.
Who are Lennar’s largest shareholders?
Lennar’s 2026 proxy statement lists stockholders it knew to be beneficial owners of more than 5% of either common-stock class. It reports the following holdings as of February 11, 2026:
| Reported holder | Class | Shares | Percentage of that class |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stuart Miller | Class B | 21,851,560 | 70.2% |
| GAMCO Investors, Inc. | Class B | 1,724,170 | 5.5% |
| The Vanguard Group | Class A | 27,368,807 | 12.6% |
| BlackRock, Inc. | Class A | 16,936,080 | 7.8% |
Percentages are calculated against outstanding shares of the applicable class, not all Lennar shares. The table is limited to disclosed beneficial owners above the proxy’s 5% threshold; it is not a complete list of investors. Lennar’s 2026 proxy statement includes the ownership table and its footnotes.

Why share ownership is not the same as voting control
Lennar has two common-stock classes. Each Class A share carries one vote, while each Class B share carries ten votes. Lennar’s proxy states: “Each outstanding share of Class A common stock entitles the holder to one vote and each outstanding share of Class B common stock entitles the holder to ten votes.”

As of February 11, 2026, the proxy says Miller could cast 220,911,062 votes, equal to 41.9% of combined votes. His 70.2% figure refers only to Class B shares; it should not be treated as his percentage of Lennar’s total shares or as a direct measure of his economic interest.
Beneficial ownership can differ from economic interest
The proxy’s footnote says Miller is reported as beneficial owner of shares held through partnerships because he has voting and dispositive power over them, although he has only a limited pecuniary interest in those shares. In other words, the ability to vote or direct the disposition of shares can be relevant to beneficial-ownership disclosure without meaning that the reporting person receives all of their economic benefits.

How to check a company’s major shareholders
- Open the company’s investor-relations site. Look for its latest proxy statement, annual reports, and SEC filings. Lennar’s investor-relations site links to company filings; its annual reports and proxies index provides historical reporting years.
- Find the ownership section in the proxy. Search within the document for “Security Ownership of Principal Stockholders” or a similar heading.
- Read the full table and footnotes. Note each holder, the share class, share count, percentage and its denominator, the measurement date, and any explanation of beneficial ownership, voting power, or dispositive power.
- Follow referenced filings. If the proxy cites a Schedule 13D or 13G, consult it to see which reporting persons are named and what voting or dispositive power they disclose.
- Check for later filings and distinguish dates. A document’s filing date is when it was submitted; its ownership date is the date the reported holdings describe. A newer filing does not necessarily report holdings as of its filing date.
- Explain voting rights separately. For a company with multiple share classes, compare votes per share and reported voting power as well as share counts and class-specific percentages.
How current are Lennar’s disclosed ownership figures?
The named-holder figures above are measured as of February 11, 2026, the date specified in Lennar’s proxy. Lennar’s investor-relations site later showed ownership-related filing activity, including a statement of changes in beneficial ownership dated October 5, 2026. That later activity does not update the February proxy table by itself. For a current ownership check, review the newest available company and SEC filings and note the date each document says the holdings represent.
