Cisco named Oliver Tuszik Executive Vice President of Global Sales on April 14, 2025, with the appointment taking effect April 27. He joined Cisco’s Executive Leadership Team; the company’s executive biography also lists him as Chief Sales Officer.
When did Oliver Tuszik take over Cisco global sales?
Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins announced Tuszik’s appointment on April 14, 2025. The change became effective on April 27, so the announcement date and the start date are different. Robbins wrote: “Today I’m thrilled to share that Oliver Tuszik has been named Executive Vice President, Global Sales, and will join Cisco’s Executive Leadership Team, effective April 27.” Cisco’s announcement identifies him as the company’s new global sales leader.
What is Tuszik’s role at Cisco?
Cisco’s executive biography lists Tuszik as Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Chief Sales Officer. The role puts him in charge of Cisco’s worldwide sales organization, working with Product, Customer Experience, Marketing, and Operations, according to Cisco’s biography. “Global sales chief” is a shorthand description; Executive Vice President of Global Sales is the title used in the appointment announcement.

Immediately before the appointment, Tuszik led Cisco’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. His earlier Cisco roles centered on partner sales and routes to market, following country leadership in Germany. Cisco’s 2025 annual report lists his progression as:
#1 Best Overall
- Country Leader Germany, July 2013–July 2018
- Senior Vice President, Worldwide Partner Organization, July 2018–December 2020
- Senior Vice President, Global Partner and General Manager, Routes to Market Sales, December 2020–August 2023
- Senior Vice President, EMEA Sales, August 2023–April 2025
- Executive Vice President, Global Sales, beginning April 2025
Before joining Cisco in 2013, Tuszik was CEO of Computacenter in Germany. The role sequence is reported in Cisco’s 2025 annual report.
Why did Cisco choose Tuszik?
Robbins said Cisco had been looking for a sales leader after Gary Steele’s departure. He described Tuszik as the right person to support customers and partners in the AI era and help accelerate growth, citing his global perspective, operational record, and customer and partner focus. Those are Cisco’s stated reasons for the appointment, not an independent assessment of Tuszik’s performance.

Cisco’s undated executive biography, accessed October 4, 2026, says EMEA delivered more than $13 billion annually under Tuszik’s leadership and accounted for more than a quarter of Cisco revenue. That figure describes the EMEA organization during his prior regional leadership; it is not a measure of his results as global sales chief.
Cisco’s July 2025 announcement that Gordon Thomson would report to Tuszik also confirms that Tuszik held the global sales leadership role after its effective date. Cisco’s announcement about Thomson provides that reporting detail.
