WhiteBIT added Bitcoin Lightning Network deposits and withdrawals on October 8, 2026, giving users an alternative to sending BTC over the standard Bitcoin network. The exchange’s published Lightning fee is 0.25% for deposits and 0.15% for withdrawals, with a 0.0001 BTC minimum and 0.06 BTC maximum for either direction. Lightning can make transfers faster, but it is not free: use it only when both services support Lightning, and check the current fee and limits before sending.
What WhiteBIT’s Lightning integration changes
WhiteBIT’s October 8, 2026 guide documents BTC deposits and withdrawals through Lightning as an additional route alongside the standard Bitcoin network. The standard route records transactions on Bitcoin’s blockchain and depends on network confirmations; Lightning moves payments through payment channels instead. The exchange’s launch announcement also describes faster account top-ups, send-and-receive functionality, and QR payment experiences, while the detailed guide explains deposits and withdrawals.
Lightning is designed for transfers where speed and efficiency matter, including frequent or smaller-value payments. It is not a guarantee that every payment will complete instantly or cost the same. Your practical choice depends on whether the sending and receiving services support Lightning, the amount, the fee, and how quickly you need the transfer processed.

Lightning fees and limits on WhiteBIT
WhiteBIT’s guide and fee schedule list these conditions for BTC (LIGHTNING):

Confirm the applicable fee, limits, and availability in WhiteBIT immediately before transferring.
How the standard BTC row differs
WhiteBIT lists standard BTC (BTC network) separately from BTC (LIGHTNING). In the fee schedule accessed October 9, 2026, standard BTC deposits are fee-free and have a 0.0001 BTC minimum; standard BTC withdrawals have a 0.00009 BTC fee and a 0.0003 BTC minimum. That schedule does not state a maximum for standard BTC in the cited row. Do not apply the standard-network terms to a Lightning transfer, or vice versa.

How to deposit BTC to WhiteBIT over Lightning
- In WhiteBIT, open Deposit, select BTC, and choose Lightning as the network.
- Generate the payment details, then scan the QR code or copy the details into a Lightning-compatible external wallet or service.
- Check the network and amount in the sending service, then confirm the payment there. WhiteBIT says BTC is credited once the transaction has been successfully processed.
How to withdraw BTC from WhiteBIT over Lightning
- Open Withdrawal, select BTC, and choose Lightning.
- Scan the receiving wallet’s QR code or enter its Lightning payment details.
- Enter an amount and review the transaction details, including the displayed fee, before confirming.
The receiving service must support Lightning. Before either direction of transfer, verify that you selected the intended network and that the payment details, amount, fee, and current limits are correct. A Bitcoin on-chain address and Lightning payment details are not interchangeable.

Check wallet and service compatibility first
WhiteBIT names Phoenix Wallet, Wallet of Satoshi, Strike, Blink Wallet, and ZEUS as examples of Lightning-compatible services. Its descriptions characterize Phoenix as self-custodial with automated channel management, Wallet of Satoshi as a mobile wallet, Strike as supporting Lightning and fiat-to-Lightning flows, Blink as including small and merchant payments, and ZEUS as offering advanced Lightning functions including node and liquidity management. These are descriptions from WhiteBIT, not independent evaluations or endorsements. Compatibility and regional availability can change, so check the service’s current support and the specific payment details before sending.

What happens when a Lightning payment is made
Lightning uses payment channels anchored by an on-chain ledger entry. Participants can update their balances through channel transactions without broadcasting every payment individually to Bitcoin. Payments can also route across channels; the network’s design uses scripts so a routed payment succeeds or fails atomically. A channel can be closed by broadcasting its latest state to Bitcoin.
In practice, this means many Lightning transfers do not need to wait for each payment to become a separate Bitcoin blockchain transaction. Bitcoin remains the settlement and enforcement layer behind the channels. WhiteBIT’s integration gives users another transfer route; it does not establish a universal speed or total-cost guarantee for every payment. Who provides the integration
WhiteBIT and Voltage announced the integration on October 8, 2026; Voltage is the infrastructure provider. In its announcement, Voltage CEO and founder Graham Krizek described the goal as making Lightning part of a familiar customer experience. That is a vendor statement, not an independent assessment of transaction performance.
