The Whirlpool WS8865NEP is a 65 cm, four-zone built-in induction cooktop with flexible-zone cooking and touch-slider controls. Whirlpool lists 7,200 W total power, but its published electrical figures vary by market: Australia lists 31.3 A, while Hong Kong lists 32 A. Check the product documentation for your country before deciding whether it fits your kitchen or electrical setup. Available evidence supports a specification-led fit assessment, not a hands-on performance or reliability verdict.
What the WS8865NEP offers
Whirlpool Australia describes the WS8865NEP as a four-zone induction cooktop with black Schott glass, front slider touch controls, FlexiSide, Chef Control, pan detection, a control-panel lock, residual-heat indication and four booster zones. It lists 18 power levels plus booster. Whirlpool Hong Kong describes four cooking zones, 18 power levels, slider-touch controls and SCHOTT CERAN glass. These are manufacturer descriptions and specifications, not independent test results.
Whirlpool describes four automatic functions: keep warm, melting, simmering and boiling. It says FlexiSide lets pots sit across a flexible cooking area, while Chef Control allows continuous adjustment from high to low using a surface slider. The product pages also say booster zones reduce boiling times. These descriptions do not establish measured temperature accuracy, cooking speed or comparative results.
Whirlpool explains its induction approach this way: “Induction technology heats the pan, not the hob, reducing energy dispersion as well as achieving faster and energy-efficient cooking.” That is the manufacturer’s explanation, not an independently measured efficiency or savings claim. As with other induction cooktops, cookware must be induction-compatible; Whirlpool’s cited product information does not specify particular pan models.

Which manual and warranty apply?
Whirlpool Singapore’s user-manual listing includes the WS8865NEP as a 65 cm built-in induction hob. Whirlpool Australia and New Zealand also offer manual links from their product pages. Use the manual for your market for operating, care and installation details rather than assuming regional product summaries are interchangeable.
The five-year parts-and-labour warranty is listed on Whirlpool Australia’s product page. It should not be assumed to apply in other countries; check the warranty terms for the exact market and unit being considered.

Who should consider the WS8865NEP?
- It may suit a kitchen planned for a 65 cm, four-zone built-in induction cooktop if the local cut-out, clearances and electrical requirements match the unit’s regional documentation.
- Its advertised controls and functions may appeal if you want a slider interface, booster settings, pan detection, a panel lock and flexible-zone cooking.
- It is harder to assess on performance alone: the available information does not establish measured cooking speed, energy use, noise, long-term reliability or owner satisfaction.
Verdict
The WS8865NEP has a useful feature set on paper, but the key buying question is local fit: verify the cut-out and electrical requirements for your market, then compare the functions with what you will actually use. Whirlpool’s published specifications are enough to guide that check, but not to support a tested-performance recommendation.
