There is no single best TV for every Australian buyer. Start by setting your budget, choosing a screen size that suits your room and deciding which display technology fits how you watch. Then use EFTM’s 2026 TV Search to narrow the models, and confirm the current price and availability on the retailer’s page before buying.

How do you choose the best TV to buy?

EFTM’s guide is a search tool, not a universal ranking: it lets you filter listed models by price, size and technology, using one or more of those criteria. Its core advice is to stick to your own requirements rather than being persuaded to spend more for a feature or technology you do not need. EFTM’s 2026 TV Search

  1. Set your budget first. Decide what you are comfortable spending before comparing features. A higher-priced set is only better value for you if its benefits matter for your viewing.
  2. Measure the space and choose a size. Consider where the TV will sit, how far you will watch from and how large a screen your room can comfortably accommodate. EFTM’s guide covers sizes from compact sets through 100 inches and above.
  3. Choose the display approach that suits your viewing. Use technology labels to narrow the list, not as a substitute for checking the specific model and how it looks in your room.
  4. Compare shortlisted models and check the live listing. Review the retailer’s current price, features and availability before placing an order.

Which TV screen technology should you choose?

EFTM describes OLED as using self-lit pixels that can produce strong black-level contrast. It describes RGB as a 2026 lighting approach intended to expand colour range, and also includes Mini-LED and LED/LCD options. These are descriptions in the guide, not the results of a controlled side-by-side test; they do not establish that one technology is best for every room or viewer. EFTM’s 2026 TV Search

  • OLED: Consider it if deep blacks and contrast are priorities. Check how the particular model performs in your room and at your preferred brightness.
  • RGB: EFTM presents this as a 2026 lighting approach aimed at colour range. Compare actual models and specifications rather than assuming the label alone predicts picture quality.
  • Mini-LED: A category included in EFTM’s filters. Compare the size, price and features of the individual set with your alternatives.
  • LED/LCD: Another option in the guide. It may suit a buyer whose shortlist and budget point to a particular model, but the technology name alone does not determine value.

How should room lighting and reflections affect your choice?

Think about daylight, lamps and where windows sit relative to the screen. EFTM’s guide distinguishes “Glare Free” from anti-reflective coatings, so do not assume those descriptions mean the same thing. If reflections are a concern, inspect the TV in store under conditions that resemble your room and check the manufacturer’s description for the exact model. EFTM’s 2026 TV Search

How should you compare price, size and value?

A useful comparison is one that keeps your priorities visible. A large screen may matter more to one buyer; another may prefer to stay within a firm budget or prioritize display technology. EFTM’s filter approach supports narrowing by these criteria, but it does not name a personalized winner for a buyer whose needs are unknown.

Is the Kogan Mini-LED QLED Pro a good TV to buy?

It is a specific example, not a market-wide winner. In a May 22, 2026 EFTM review, Trevor Long called the Kogan Mini-LED QLED Pro 4K TV “a strong value option that won’t disappoint.” His review discusses 144Hz refresh rate, Google TV, HDR support, contrast and brightness, and states that the set has four HDMI inputs. Those are review details and one reviewer’s assessment; they do not amount to comparative testing of all TVs available in 2026. Check the review and current retailer listing to see whether its features and price suit you. Trevor Long’s EFTM review

How do you use EFTM’s 2026 TV Search?

Use the guide to make a manageable shortlist, then verify details at the point of sale. EFTM says it checks retailer prices regularly and includes recent price-history graphs for listed models, but warns that prices may change after checking. Its guide names JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and Appliances Online among retailers it checks; that does not guarantee a model is in stock at any of them. EFTM’s 2026 TV Search

  1. Open EFTM’s TV Search and set one or more filters for price, size and technology.
  2. Compare the resulting models against your room, viewing habits and budget instead of selecting solely by a technology label.
  3. For a shortlisted model, review any available price history and note that it reflects earlier prices, not a promise of today’s price.
  4. Open the retailer’s listing and verify the current price, exact model, specifications and availability before buying.

EFTM states that it earns no commission from links on its guide page. That statement describes the guide; it is not evidence about the commercial arrangements of other retailers or sites.

Which TV should you buy?

Choose the model that fits your budget, room and viewing priorities—not a model promoted as the best for everyone. EFTM’s search can help you narrow the field, while the retailer’s live listing is the place to confirm the price and whether your chosen set is available.
