Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 is the faster choice on paper and in the benchmark aggregates reviewed. Qualcomm lists it on a 4 nm process with a maximum CPU clock of 2.4 GHz, compared with 6 nm and up to 2.3 GHz for Snapdragon 6s Gen 3. NanoReview’s current comparison also shows higher AnTuTu 11 and Geekbench 6 results for the 6 Gen 3. Those scores come from different phones and test counts, however, so they do not predict an identical performance gap in every handset.

What is the difference between Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 and Snapdragon 6 Gen 3?

The 6 Gen 3 has the advantage in the platform specifications and aggregate benchmark results available for this comparison. The 6s Gen 3 remains a mid-range mobile platform, but its listed process, maximum CPU clock, and reported memory support are behind those of the 6 Gen 3.

Benchmark Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 Reported comparison
AnTuTu 11 total 617,626 (31 tests) 840,353 (123 tests) NanoReview labels the 6 Gen 3 result 36% higher.
Geekbench 6 single-core 938 (6 tests) 1,013 (24 tests) The 6 Gen 3 is higher in this aggregate.
Geekbench 6 multi-core 2,183 (6 tests) 3,000 (24 tests) The 6 Gen 3 is higher in this aggregate.

For gaming and graphics-heavy work, the aggregate page also gives the 6 Gen 3 the higher AnTuTu GPU subscore. It reports a higher PCMark 3.0 aggregate as well, though individual PCMark subtests can be close or vary by task. Treat these as comparative indicators: device cooling, firmware, benchmark version, temperature, and the mix of submitted phones can change results.

What do Qualcomm’s performance claims mean?

Qualcomm says Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 delivers up to 10% better CPU performance, over 30% improved graphics rendering, and over 20% better AI performance than Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. Those percentages use the 6 Gen 1 as the reference. They are not a direct comparison with Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 and should not be read as the performance gap between the two chips in this article. Which Snapdragon chip is better for gaming?

Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 is the stronger gaming pick based on the listed GPU comparison and its lead in the aggregate graphics result. That does not guarantee a particular frame rate: the phone’s cooling system, screen resolution, game settings, software, and power limits affect sustained gameplay. Compare reviews or tests of the exact phone models if gaming performance is decisive.

Which phone should you buy?

If two phones cost about the same and are otherwise comparable, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 phone is the stronger choice on the evidence here. If one handset has a substantially better screen, battery, camera, cooling, software support, or price, those differences may matter more than the processor lead.

  • Confirm the processor in the exact model and regional version; a product family name alone may not identify the chipset used in every market.
  • Compare the phone’s RAM and storage configuration rather than assuming it uses the platform’s maximum supported memory.
  • Check battery capacity, charging implementation, screen resolution and refresh rate, and cooling design.
  • Verify camera sensors and manufacturer software, not just the chip’s camera-platform capabilities.
  • Check carrier bands, software update policy, and current local price for the specific handset.

Phone availability and pricing vary by country and model. The chipset comparison does not establish a current price or a controlled same-device performance result, so make the final decision using specifications and reliable tests for the exact phones being considered.

Do the platform features guarantee the same experience in every phone?

No. These are platform-level specifications and capabilities. Phone makers choose components and may implement or omit options, while carriers and regional variants affect network support. For example, a platform’s peak download rate does not mean a phone will reach it on every network, and an ISP feature or megapixel ceiling does not determine the finished camera’s image quality.
