The Redmi 17 5G is the strongest evidence-backed battery-life pick under ₹25,000, but it is not a proven category winner. Digit measured 27 hours 18 minutes in its PCMark battery test; no cited source tested it alongside the closest alternatives under identical conditions. Its listed 6GB/128GB price is ₹23,999, while the 8GB/128GB variant is above budget.
What the Redmi 17 5G’s battery test actually shows
In a review published on 4 October 2026, Digit reviewer Bhaskar Sharma reported that the Redmi 17 5G lasted 27 hours 18 minutes in Digit’s PCMark battery test. Digit’s reviewer used the phone for about two weeks. This is a result from that review’s test setup—not a promise of screen-on time or a forecast for every owner. See Digit’s Redmi 17 5G review.
The result makes the Redmi 17 a compelling starting point if endurance is your priority. It does not establish that the phone lasts longer than every rival below ₹25,000: the available PCMark results come from different publishers, and the sources do not establish matched brightness, network, software, or other test conditions.

Price and capacity figures are from Beebom’s battery-phone comparison; the vivo T4 and realme P4 PCMark figures are from 91mobiles’ comparison page. Because these benchmark results are from separate sources, treat them as individual published results, not a reliable leaderboard. A fair ranking would require the same test procedure, brightness, network settings, software, and other conditions.
Price and configuration determine whether the Redmi fits
Beebom lists the Redmi 17 5G at ₹23,999 for 6GB/128GB and ₹26,999 for 8GB/128GB. Only the 6GB/128GB listing is within this budget. The price is time-sensitive, so check that the configuration you select and the final price at checkout still meet your limit. The same listing includes the vivo T4 5G at ₹24,999 and realme P4 5G at ₹20,999, leaving room in the budget for those alternatives.

Battery capacity, charging, and Xiaomi’s runtime claims
There is a discrepancy in the Redmi 17’s stated battery capacity. Xiaomi India lists a typical capacity of 7,900mAh, while Xiaomi Global and Digit say 7,500mAh. For an India-market purchase, Xiaomi India’s regional page is the relevant product listing, but the difference should not be silently resolved: Xiaomi India’s Redmi 17 5G specifications, Xiaomi Global’s specifications, and Digit’s review report those figures respectively. Capacity alone cannot tell you how long a phone will last in your use.

Its claims of “2.5-day battery life,” more than 20 hours of video playback, and up to 146 hours of music playback are manufacturer claims, not independent comparisons against the phones above. Xiaomi Global instead says “2-day battery life.” The global page describes moderate use as including typical home-screen use, music, social media, email, maps, video streaming, and standby, and cautions that results vary with environment, software, network, and personal use. Treat these as Xiaomi internal-lab claims, not a guarantee of your runtime: Xiaomi India’s Redmi 17 5G product page and Xiaomi Global’s product page.

Digit reports that its review unit took about 70 minutes to charge from zero to full. That is one reviewer’s observation under its charging conditions, not a guaranteed charge time for every unit or situation.

A useful battery comparison combines endurance evidence with the phone’s configuration price and the rest of the hardware—not just the largest mAh number. For the Redmi 17, Digit specifies a 6.9-inch, 720p LCD with a refresh rate up to 120Hz and a weight of 232g. The large, low-resolution LCD may have different power demands from an AMOLED screen, but panel type alone does not determine battery life. The Redmi Note 17 5G, for example, is listed with an FHD+ AMOLED display and an 8,000mAh battery, but its 6GB/128GB configuration is ₹27,999 in the cited 91mobiles listing—outside this budget. It is a stretch-budget comparison, not an under-₹25,000 recommendation. See 91mobiles’ Redmi 17 5G and Redmi Note 17 5G comparison.

- For the strongest cited endurance result: consider the Redmi 17 5G 6GB/128GB, provided its live price remains under ₹25,000.
- For a lower listed price: the realme P4 5G and Redmi 15 5G appear below the Redmi 17 in Beebom’s price comparison, but the cited evidence does not establish a directly comparable result showing which lasts longer in real-world use.
- For a near-limit alternative: the vivo T4 5G is listed at ₹24,999 and has a published 91mobiles PCMark result, but that test cannot be fairly ranked against Digit’s Redmi result without matched conditions.
- For extra display resolution or AMOLED: the Redmi Note 17 5G is a possible comparison only if you are willing to exceed this budget at the cited listing price.
