The Infineon microcontroller identified with both USB and HDLC is the historical UTAH-family SAF C165UTAH-LF. Infineon’s 2006/2007 distribution catalog describes UTAH as a 16-bit microcontroller with USB, HDLC and IOM®-2. That catalog entry establishes the part’s historical feature set, not its present-day availability.

What is the SAF C165UTAH-LF?

Infineon’s 2006/2007 Product Catalog for Distribution lists the UTAH family as a “16-bit microcontroller with USB, HDLC and IOM®-2.” The catalog identifies SAF C165UTAH-LF as an orderable UTAH part and lists tray and tape-and-reel order variants.

This is the direct match for searches asking which Infineon MCU combines USB and HDLC. It is a historical catalog reference; the entry alone does not establish that the part remains in production or is currently sold.

What do USB and HDLC do in this MCU?

USB provides a peripheral connection between a host and a device. HDLC is a synchronous data-link protocol used in some telecom and embedded links. The catalog confirms that both functions are associated with the UTAH MCU, but does not specify the USB speed, HDLC channel count, electrical levels, supported modes or software APIs for SAF C165UTAH-LF. Consult the device datasheet or user manual for those implementation details.

How can you check documentation and development resources?

Search these official resources for the exact part number. If a datasheet or manual for SAF C165UTAH-LF is not available there, the catalog entry is not enough to answer detailed design questions.

Can you still buy the SAF C165UTAH-LF?

Current inventory, lifecycle status, authorized distribution and seller authenticity have not been established here. Treat any listing as unverified until you can confirm the exact part, package, date code and seller. An old catalog listing is not proof of present availability.

What to compare if you need a replacement

If the original device cannot be sourced, compare candidates against the requirements of the actual design rather than relying on the USB-and-HDLC feature labels alone:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • USB host or device role and supported speed.
  • HDLC or an equivalent synchronous serial function, including channel count and supported modes.
  • Package and pin compatibility.
  • CPU architecture, performance, voltage and clock requirements.
  • Interrupt and DMA behavior.
  • Lifecycle status, authorized supply and available migration tools.

Infineon’s current MCU documentation, Developer Center and tools catalog are useful places to investigate documentation and development resources, but they do not by themselves establish that a replacement is pin-compatible or software-compatible with UTAH.
