The right Bubble alternative depends on what you are building: a client portal, a spreadsheet-based internal tool, a custom web app, or a product that must also reach mobile app stores. For business portals and connected data, start with Softr or Glide; for Google Workspace workflows, consider AppSheet; for more control over a web app and the option to export code, look at WeWeb. If native mobile apps are essential, compare FlutterFlow and Adalo separately. These are use-case matches based on vendors’ stated product scopes, not hands-on test results.

How should you choose a Bubble alternative?

“Simple web app” can mean very different things. A portal for invited customers has different needs from a staff workflow built around a spreadsheet, and neither is the same as a public product with custom screens and branching logic. Decide what the app must do before comparing builders.

  • Audience: Will only employees use it, or will clients, partners, or the public need accounts?
  • Starting data: Do you need to connect existing spreadsheets or databases, or are you starting with a builder’s own database or an external backend?
  • Logic and interface: Are ready-made blocks and straightforward workflows enough, or do you need more control over layout and behavior?
  • Output: Is a responsive web app sufficient, or do you need a progressive web app or a native iOS or Android app? These are different outputs; do not assume a mobile-friendly web page is a native app.
  • Portability: If you leave later, can you export code, host the app yourself, or move only the data? Check what actually transfers, including app behavior and integrations.
  • Total cost: Compare user or builder seats, end-user limits, usage credits, app limits, hosting and database inclusion, and monthly versus annual billing.

For a quick shortlist, a portal using business data points toward Softr or Glide; a workflow already centered on Google Workspace points toward AppSheet; a web app where interface control and code export matter points toward WeWeb. Native mobile requirements call for a separate look at FlutterFlow and Adalo.

Which Bubble alternative fits each kind of app?

Builder Consider it for What the available product description emphasizes Check before choosing
Softr Client or vendor portals, business dashboards, and internal tools Softr lists portals, CRM, inventory, intranets, and reporting among its use cases, and advertises role and permission controls. Softr’s official product page Confirm that its data connections, permissions, and plan limits fit your real users and records. The vendor’s description is not independent proof of ease or security.
Glide Connected business apps for field operations, inventory, or customer portals Glide emphasizes shared data across apps and access tailored to roles. Glide’s official product page Check the supported data sources, user access rules, and limits for the workflow you intend to run.
Google AppSheet Internal workflows already built around Google Sheets, Drive, or Workspace Bubble’s comparison describes AppSheet as spreadsheet-oriented and aimed at internal operations. Bubble’s platform comparison Verify current Google documentation for specific capabilities, integrations, and pricing before you commit.
WeWeb Web apps where the team wants more direct interface control and a possible route to self-hosting WeWeb says users can generate apps with AI, edit visually, publish, or export code to self-host. WeWeb’s official product page Check the precise export terms and what code, services, or app behavior you would need to maintain after export.
FlutterFlow Projects where a mobile app is part of the requirement and the team can work with Flutter concepts FlutterFlow describes visual UI building, a visual action-flow editor, and Firebase and Supabase integrations. FlutterFlow’s official product page Confirm current publishing options, backend needs, and the amount of Flutter knowledge your team will need.
Adalo Projects where publishing to mobile app stores is more important than matching Bubble’s web-first flexibility Adalo says one project can publish to the Apple App Store, Google Play, and the web. Adalo’s vendor comparison Verify current publishing support and plan restrictions. Its broad comparative and price claims are vendor-authored.

These choices are not a tested ranking. The descriptions above establish how the vendors position their products, not which one is objectively easiest, fastest, most secure, or best value for your app.

Can you build an app from a spreadsheet?

Often, the practical question is whether the builder works with the data you already use. For an internal process built around Google Sheets or Workspace, AppSheet is a natural candidate to investigate. For broader business apps drawing on connected data, Softr and Glide present themselves around portals and operational use cases. Those product descriptions do not establish that every spreadsheet structure or workflow will work as-is.

Before rebuilding a process, map the spreadsheet’s tables, relationships, users, and permissions. Then verify that the builder can connect to the specific data source and handle the access rules the app requires. If the app will expose customer or partner data, test permissions with representative accounts rather than assuming that a role setting alone provides the controls you need.

Which option gives you more control over the app or its code?

WeWeb is the clearest candidate in this group if export and self-hosting are important: its official page describes visual editing, publishing, and code export for self-hosting. That is a product claim, not a guarantee that moving an existing app will be effortless. Ask what the export includes, how integrations and backend services behave outside the platform, and what your team must maintain.

Bubble’s comparison itself advises checking current mobile capabilities. Treat web, progressive web app, and native mobile output as separate requirements when evaluating any builder. If native iOS or Android delivery is necessary, FlutterFlow and Adalo are more directly relevant than a web-first shortlist, but verify their current publishing details before deciding.

What should you know about Replit and prompt-led builders?

Replit is a broader alternative if you are willing to consider prompt-led development rather than limiting the search to visual no-code platforms. Its comparison guide describes a browser-based workspace with a database, authentication, hosting, and deployment. Replit’s Bubble alternatives guide

That approach has a different maintenance model from a visual no-code editor: generated code and application behavior may require technical review and upkeep. Consider it if your team wants to work with code as well as prompts, not simply because you want a replacement that behaves like Bubble.

Why isn’t this a verified list of 12 “best” builders?

A 2026 comparison is titled as a twelve-builder roundup, but the available material does not establish its complete roster. Rather than inventing or endorsing a twelve-item ranking, this guide covers the options for which the product scope is substantiated here. The comparison is a useful place to see the broader roundup, but it should not be mistaken for an independent test. Rework’s Bubble alternatives comparison

How should you compare prices and plan limits?

Do not choose based on the lowest advertised monthly entry price. Costs can depend on who builds, how many people use the app, usage credits, app or record limits, hosting and database inclusion, and whether the quoted rate assumes annual billing. A comparison guide’s pricing examples were marked as checked in August 2026, and Replit’s guide also dates its product and pricing information to August 2026; those figures may have changed by the time you choose. Check the official pricing and feature pages for the plan, region, billing cadence, and limits you need before budgeting. Rework’s comparison and Replit’s comparison

A practical shortlist by use case

  • Client or vendor portal: Begin with Softr; also evaluate Glide if your app depends on connected operational data.
  • Field operations or inventory: Compare Glide and Softr against your data source and role requirements.
  • Google Workspace internal workflow: Investigate AppSheet and verify current Google feature and pricing details.
  • Custom web interface with portability in mind: Evaluate WeWeb, including the precise limits of code export and self-hosting.
  • Native mobile app: Compare FlutterFlow and Adalo based on publishing needs, backend, and the skills your team can support.
  • Prompt-led coding approach: Consider Replit only if a code-oriented maintenance model suits the team.
