For a 2015–2019 Intel Celeron or Pentium PC with integrated Intel graphics, FydeOS for PC’s Intel Slim variant is the strongest documented current fit in this comparison—if your goal is to run Android apps alongside a desktop operating system. It is not a standalone Android OS, and its Android subsystem requires SSE4.2; FydeOS recommends at least 4 GB of RAM for Android apps. BlissOS Go is designed for low-end hardware, but its public images are paused and archived downloads are unsupported. The six entries below therefore compare different ways to use Android on a PC, not six equivalent, actively maintained Android operating systems.
Which Android OS works on a low-end PC?
“Low-end” is not a compatibility specification. The right option depends on the exact CPU and instruction set, graphics hardware, RAM, firmware mode, and whether the machine is 32-bit or 64-bit. The ranking below prioritizes documented fit and support status, not measured speed. Lower positions reflect legacy status or a category mismatch—not benchmark results.
| Rank and option | What it is | Best fit and important limit |
|---|---|---|
| 1. FydeOS for PC, Intel Slim | Desktop operating system with an Android subsystem | Current documented fit for 6th–9th generation Intel Celeron/Pentium processors and integrated Intel HD/UHD graphics. Android apps need SSE4.2; 4 GB RAM or more is recommended. |
| 2. BlissOS Go (archived builds) | Android-based PC operating system | Designed for low-end machines, but public images are paused; archived images receive no updates or official support. |
| 3. Android-x86 8.1-r6 | Legacy Android-based PC operating system | Worth considering when older hardware or 32-bit compatibility is central. The release index does not establish current security maintenance. |
| 4. Android-x86 9.0-r2 | Legacy Android-based PC operating system | A newer branch than Android-x86 8.1 in the project’s listed releases, but Android 9 is not a current Android release. |
| 5. Waydroid on lightweight Linux | Android hosted within Linux | For someone who wants Android apps in a Linux environment; it is not a bootable standalone Android OS. Current requirements and release details are not established here. |
| 6. BlueStacks 5 | Android app emulator for Windows | For keeping Windows and running Android apps in an emulator; it is not an operating-system replacement. Current minimum requirements are not established here. |
1. FydeOS for PC, Intel Slim: best documented current fit for some older Intel PCs
FydeOS’s Intel Slim variant targets 6th–9th generation Intel Celeron and Pentium processors—roughly 2015–2019 systems—with integrated Intel HD/UHD graphics. The download page lists version 23.0-SP1 dated September 10, 2026. FydeOS is a desktop operating system with an Android subsystem that you activate; it is not a pure Android OS. See the FydeOS Intel Slim download page, FydeOS boot requirements, and Android app instructions.
FydeOS says browser use needs at least 2 GB of RAM, but recommends 4 GB or more for Android apps. The Android subsystem requires SSE4.2. For its documented PC Android features, the supported graphics families are Intel and AMD Radeon; NVIDIA discrete graphics may need to be disabled and are not officially supported. Check the processor, graphics, and memory before choosing an image.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
2. BlissOS Go: strongest low-end design fit, but only as an archive experiment
Bliss documents Go as its variant for low-end machines, which makes it the clearest design match among the native Android PC projects here. The practical drawback is support: Bliss says public images are paused, old images are frozen archives without updates or official support, and there is no public ETA for the next image. Its older hardware documentation also targets x86_64-v2, but that legacy compatibility page may not fully describe future builds. Treat an archived image as an experiment rather than a maintained everyday system. See Bliss OS project information and its documentation.
3–4. Android-x86 8.1-r6 and 9.0-r2: legacy choices, not current Android
The Android-x86 project’s release index lists Android 8.1 and Android 9.0 series, including 8.1-r6 and 9.0-r2. The 9.0 branch is newer only relative to the listed Android-x86 branches. The index does not establish active security maintenance, app compatibility on a particular PC, or a speed advantage for either release. Choose these only if the legacy project and its compatibility context suit your hardware; do not treat either as a current Android base. See the Android-x86 releases index.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
5. Waydroid on lightweight Linux: Android apps without replacing Linux
Waydroid belongs in an expanded list of Android-on-PC routes, not among bootable Android OS images: it hosts Android within a Linux installation. The material available for this comparison does not establish its current requirements or release details, so check Waydroid’s own current documentation before deciding whether it fits your PC. This option also means choosing and maintaining a Linux host.
6. BlueStacks 5: keep Windows and use an emulator
BlueStacks 5 is an Android app emulator for a Windows host, not a replacement operating system. It may suit someone who wants to keep Windows rather than boot into an Android-based system, but current product requirements are not established here. Confirm the emulator’s current requirements and supported Windows configuration with its publisher before installing.

Can you run Android apps with 2 GB RAM?
Not reliably on the basis of RAM alone. FydeOS lists 2 GB as the minimum for browser use, but recommends at least 4 GB for Android apps. That guidance does not guarantee performance on a particular machine: the CPU, graphics, storage, drivers, and the apps you intend to use also matter. If the PC has only 2 GB, do not interpret FydeOS’s browser minimum as an Android-app recommendation.
How to check compatibility before installing
- Identify the hardware. Check the CPU model and generation, RAM, graphics adapter, firmware mode, and whether the processor and installed system are 32-bit or 64-bit. For FydeOS, match the image to the machine rather than assuming one PC download works on every computer. Its variant guide distinguishes Intel Slim from other variants.
- Check FydeOS-specific requirements if considering it. Confirm the system is in the Intel Slim target family, has integrated Intel HD/UHD graphics, and supports SSE4.2 for Android apps. Its Intel Legacy option for older Intel Core systems is marked no longer supported; the guide notes that trying Intel Modern may sometimes be worth considering, but compatibility is not guaranteed.
- Try a bootable USB before installing. FydeOS recommends booting from USB first. Test graphics, Wi-Fi, sound, touchpad or touchscreen, and sleep—especially the components you rely on daily. Both FydeOS and Bliss installation instructions use bootable USB media; a USB drive is installation media, not proof that the PC is compatible. See FydeOS installation guidance and Bliss OS installation guidance.
- Install only after the trial passes. If a component fails during the USB test, check the project’s variant and compatibility documentation before committing to installation. Archived Bliss images and legacy Android-x86 releases should not be assumed to receive fixes.
Is Android-x86 still current?
The Android-x86 releases index lists Android 9.0 and 8.1 series, as well as older versions. That makes it a legacy option rather than evidence of a current Android release or ongoing security support. The index confirms which series are listed; it does not promise that apps will work on a specific PC or that a release is actively patched.

Which option should you choose?
- Choose FydeOS Intel Slim if the PC matches its documented Intel Celeron/Pentium and integrated-graphics target, supports SSE4.2, and you want Android apps alongside a desktop system.
- Consider BlissOS Go only as an unsupported archive if its low-end design is appealing and you accept paused public images and no official support for old downloads.
- Consider Android-x86 only for a legacy compatibility need, especially where older hardware or 32-bit support matters; do not mistake its listed releases for current Android.
- Choose a hosted or emulated route only if you want to keep a host OS: Waydroid runs within Linux, while BlueStacks 5 runs as an emulator on Windows. Verify their current requirements with their publishers.
