Search HBO Max first for Warner Bros. films and Paramount+ first for Paramount films—but treat both as starting points, not guarantees. Search the exact movie in the service available in your country before subscribing: studio ownership does not mean every film is in that studio’s streaming catalog.

If the film is not listed, search its exact title in other streaming services available where you live. Catalog rights can vary by country, and a movie may be licensed to a third-party service rather than the service associated with its studio.
How to check whether a movie is leaving
Search the title in the app
Look up the exact movie in the streaming service’s search function and open its title page. Confirm that it is available to play in your country and check for any displayed leaving date before deciding when to watch. HBO Max notes that some movies and shows are available only for a limited time. Its catalog guidance explains that availability can change.

Use HBO Max’s Last Chance row
For a Warner Bros. movie on HBO Max, check the Last Chance row for titles leaving soon. HBO Max provides directions for finding the row on phones, tablets, computers, and TVs; because app layouts can change, consult the current HBO Max Help Center instructions for your device.

Verify before paying for another month
Before renewing or adding a subscription for one film, confirm that the movie is actually listed on that service in your country. Compare the service’s current price and catalog with the specific titles you plan to watch; a subscription should not be treated as access to every film from its associated studio. Current service terms can change, so check the provider’s own Max plans page for its latest plan details.

Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery announced a plan to combine Paramount+, HBO Max, and Pluto as part of the proposed acquisition. On October 4, 2026, the companies’ announced anticipated closing date—October 30, 2026—was still in the future. The Associated Press reported on September 30 that a federal judge had approved Paramount’s settlement with states, allowing the merger to soon close; that report did not establish that it had already closed by October 4. The companies’ closing announcement gives the anticipated date, and the AP report describes the court development.
Even after a corporate change, it would not follow that every movie moves to one app or stays there. Paramount’s merger announcement says both studios intend to continue licensing films and shows across their own and third-party platforms. That is a company-stated plan, not a title-by-title schedule or confirmation of where any particular film streams today.
