Practice, difficulty, and display features
M2’s collection offers more than a straight arcade replay. Its Arcade modes recreate the originals, while Super Easy modes provide a less demanding way to play. Arcade Challenge lets you practice individual stages and bosses with a selected difficulty and ship loadout; after a hit, rewind lets you repeat a section. M2 also lists gameplay-information gadgets, worldwide leaderboards, downloadable leaderboard replays, screen-size settings, and screen rotation for a vertical TATE setup. M2’s feature overview.
The US Nintendo listing says its gadgets can alert players to enemies approaching from blind spots, hidden features, and upcoming items, and lists one-to-two players and Switch 2 compatibility. The US PlayStation listing specifies one-to-two players and optional online play; it says the PS4 game is playable on PS5, though some PS4 features may be absent.
