To listen outside Nintendo Music, search for the exact game’s soundtrack on a licensed music service in your country, or look for a verified official CD or vinyl release. Availability varies by game and region: there is no basis for assuming Nintendo soundtracks are broadly available on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, or any other service. Check who published a listing before treating it as official.

Check whether the exact soundtrack has an official release

Start with the game title, then check your preferred streaming service for an album or tracks published by Nintendo, an authorized label, or a clearly licensed distributor. A playlist or search result uploaded by an individual is not proof of an official release. If the publisher or rights-holder is unclear, do not assume the music is licensed.

The same title-by-title approach applies to physical music. Search for the exact game and format, then verify the release edition, region, and seller. The available evidence does not establish a dependable, comprehensive list of official Nintendo CDs or vinyl records, so a specific release should be checked before purchase.

Are Nintendo soundtracks on Spotify or Apple Music?

That depends on the game, country, and current licensing. The official information available here does not establish a comprehensive catalogue on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, or other third-party services. Search the exact title in the service you use and confirm the source of any result rather than relying on a franchise playlist or an unofficial upload.

Nintendo’s own music playlists show that its catalogue includes game-specific selections: examples include The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and Super Mario Bros. Wonder. These are Nintendo Music playlists, not evidence that either soundtrack is available on an outside streaming platform.

What Nintendo Music offers if an outside release is unavailable

Nintendo Music is Nintendo’s official alternative, though it is not outside the service. Nintendo says members can listen on compatible phones and tablets, in a computer web browser, and in supported cars through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The app supports downloads for offline listening; browser listening is also available. A Nintendo Switch console is not required.

Nintendo’s Canadian product page describes a catalogue of over 250 hours spanning more than 130 titles. That is Nintendo’s page-specific figure, accessed in 2026, and the catalogue may change. Check the Nintendo Music product page for current features and catalogue information.

Membership and country requirements

Using Nintendo Music requires a Nintendo Account and a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Nintendo’s page describes a seven-day trial that converts to a renewing one-month membership unless canceled; eligibility and terms apply, so check the current offer before starting it. The service is not available in every country. Consult Nintendo’s supported-region list, updated June 2, 2026, for your location; Nintendo says additional regions may be added.

How to check an outside option

  1. Search the exact game title plus “official soundtrack” in the music service available in your country.
  2. Check the album or track’s publisher or distributor. Treat it as official only when the rights-holder, an authorized label, or a clearly licensed distributor is identified.
  3. For a CD or vinyl, verify the edition, region, and seller before buying; a marketplace listing alone does not establish that a release is official.
  4. If you cannot verify an outside release and the game appears in Nintendo Music, check regional access and membership requirements. Use the browser on a computer or a compatible device, and use the app if you need offline downloads.

Why official availability can be limited

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa described game music as “a valuable and important form of Nintendo IP” at the company’s 2025 annual shareholder meeting. That statement helps explain why availability should be checked title by title, but it does not establish where any particular soundtrack can be streamed or purchased.
