Samsung Sound Assistant does not appear to have been discontinued. As of October 3, 2026, Samsung’s Galaxy Store listing still shows the free app as installable and lists version 8.5.00.2, dated May 22, 2026. If you cannot find it, availability may depend on your Galaxy device, region, or software version.
Is Samsung Sound Assistant discontinued?
No. Samsung’s Galaxy Store listing for Sound Assistant showed an Install action and version 8.5.00.2, dated May 22, 2026, when checked on October 3, 2026. Samsung also lists Sound Assistant among Good Lock features in its Good Lock support guide. That does not guarantee the app will appear for every user: Samsung says Good Lock availability can vary by device and software version, and availability may also differ by region.
To check your own phone, open the official Galaxy Store listing and see whether it offers installation. Then consult Samsung’s Good Lock support information for your device and software version. There is no single menu path established for all Galaxy phones.

- Custom volume panel: Change the panel’s layout and visual options.
- Volume-button controls: Use the buttons to control media volume or playback.
- Simultaneous app sound: Allow sound from multiple apps to play at the same time.
- Equalizer settings: Adjust audio with EQ controls and save or share settings.
- App audio output: In the floating volume dialog, switch an app’s output between Bluetooth and the phone speaker.
- Other audio options: Samsung’s support guide also lists media-app favorites, Bluetooth video audio sync, vibration patterns, and options for ringtone, notification, and alarm sound when headphones or Bluetooth are connected.
These are documented functions, not a promise that every control is available on every Galaxy model. Check Samsung’s listing and device-specific support information before relying on a particular option.
Why did the reverse stereo option disappear?
The removal of one option does not mean the entire app was discontinued. A Samsung Good Lock moderator said reverse stereo was no longer provided on regular smartphone types from One UI 7.0. In a June 29, 2026 reply, a Samsung Members Good Lock support moderator explained, translated from Korean, that changes to system sound processing made it difficult to provide reverse stereo reliably, so the feature was no longer supported. Samsung’s explanation does not indicate a current setting for restoring it.
