In his voter-guide response, Savit said: “I will aggressively challenge unjust utility rate increases before the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC).” He says his office would scrutinize rate hikes and seek to block utilities from passing improper costs—such as executive bonuses and corporate lobbying—on to ratepayers. Any result would depend on the facts and applicable proceedings before the commission; his response states an intended approach, not a decision already made by the MPSC.

What does he say about utility-industry money?
Savit’s voter-guide response says he has pledged to refuse corporate PAC contributions and accepted the League of Conservation Voters’ “No Utility Money” challenge. Those are commitments stated in his response; they do not by themselves establish his subsequent contribution history.
What is his plan for election protection?
Savit says he would meet regularly with the Secretary of State, local clerks, law enforcement, and voter-protection groups to prepare for possible scenarios involving the 2028 elections. He lists polling-place intimidation, efforts to discard ballots, unconstitutional voting requirements, disinformation, and interference with voter information as concerns for which he says his office should be ready.

His campaign’s issue materials also emphasize public safety, rights and constitutional protections, worker protections, consumer protection, environmental protection, justice, and work with local communities.
