Roku TV buttons are usually on the lower edge or the back of the television, but the exact position and layout vary by model. First check the bottom center behind the status light, then inspect the lower left and right areas of the rear panel.
Where to look for the buttons on a Roku TV
Roku notes that panel buttons can be difficult to spot. With the TV off, feel carefully along the bottom edge and look behind the status indicator LED near the center. If you do not find a control there, check the rear panel near its lower left and lower right edges. Avoid moving or tipping a large TV by yourself just to reach the back.
There is no universal Roku TV button position. Roku TVs are sold under Roku’s own brand and by partner manufacturers, and button placement and functions differ between models. Roku’s lost-remote instructions describe several common panel layouts, but your TV’s model documentation is the authority for its controls.

On supported layouts, panel controls can open the Inputs menu, and repeated presses or joystick movements may let you navigate to Find Remote. Those actions are layout-specific, not a sequence that works on every Roku TV.

Exceptions to look for
- Some Roku Select TVs have no button controls beyond a power button.
- Roku Pro Series TVs have a dedicated Find My Remote button on the right side, above the power button. This is separate from the ordinary panel controls.

How to identify your Roku TV model
Identifying the model helps you find the right button instructions, especially if the set was made by a Roku partner. You can check the model number on the rear label, the retail box, or in the TV’s settings:

- Select System.
- Select About. The screen shows the model number and the TV maker’s support information.
Use the maker’s documentation for model-specific button locations. Roku makes Roku-branded TVs and also works with other manufacturers; for a partner-made set, Roku directs owners to the manufacturer for product details. Roku’s support page also explains where to find the model number: Find your Roku device model number.
How to turn on or control a Roku TV without its panel buttons
Use the Roku mobile app
Roku’s free app for iOS and Android can work as a full remote control. It is a useful alternative if the TV’s controls are hard to reach or you have misplaced the remote. See Roku’s mobile-app remote guidance.

Use a compatible TV remote
Many Roku TV remotes supplied with TVs include dedicated TV power and volume controls. Voice remotes with TV controls also have power and volume buttons. If replacing a remote, confirm it is compatible with your exact TV model and check that it includes the functions you need; not every Roku TV remote works with every set. A reset control is not an alternative way to turn the TV on or navigate it. Roku documents different reset procedures across models: some sets have a recessed Reset button, Pro Series sets have a remote-shaped button next to Power, and some TVs without a Reset button reset by holding Power.
