If WhatsApp is missing from the iPhone Shortcuts action list, there may be no setting to fix: Shortcuts can show only actions an app makes available to iOS. First search the action list and check WhatsApp under Apps. If you mean a WhatsApp Siri request or suggestion instead, check Siri’s WhatsApp setting separately—Siri support does not guarantee a dedicated action in the Shortcuts editor.
First, identify what is missing
There are two different things people may mean by a “WhatsApp action”:

A Siri suggestion and an editor action are separate availability checks. Finding one does not prove the other is available.
Search the Shortcuts action list

Open the Shortcuts app and open an existing shortcut or create a new one.

Tap Search Actions and search for WhatsApp. Apple says you can search the action list and filter it by app. See Apple’s guide to navigating the action list.

If the search does not show what you need, open Apps in the action categories and select WhatsApp if it appears. Review the actions listed there. This lets you inspect available actions; it does not add support that the app has not provided.

If the action is present but asks to access another app or data, grant the requested permission if you want the shortcut to use it, then try the action again. Apple notes that actions can require permission.

If you meant a Siri request, check Siri settings
WhatsApp’s help guidance gives this path: Settings > Siri > Apps > WhatsApp. Turn on Use with Siri Request. Settings labels and locations can vary with iOS releases and language; if they differ on your iPhone, look for the equivalent Siri and app controls. This setting concerns Siri requests, not whether WhatsApp offers a dedicated Shortcuts editor action. See WhatsApp’s instructions for using Siri.

Check Siri shortcut availability and suggestions
Apple advises checking the App Store listing for information about third-party Siri Shortcut support. Apple also says that opening an app and performing an action may cause a shortcut to appear in Siri Suggestions. Suggestions are not a guaranteed fix for a missing editor action. Why reinstalling or resetting may not help
Apple’s App Shortcuts and App Intents documentation describes app actions as capabilities developers expose to Shortcuts and other system experiences. If WhatsApp is absent from both search and the Apps list, that can mean the action you expect is not available to Shortcuts; it does not by itself show that an iPhone setting is broken. The official guidance cited here does not establish that restarting, reinstalling, resetting settings, or updating will restore a missing editor action. Apple’s App Intents documentation

When to contact support
If WhatsApp still does not appear, contact Apple or WhatsApp support with the details needed to distinguish an app-availability issue from a version-specific problem:

- The exact action you are trying to find.
- Whether it is missing from Search Actions/Apps, Siri settings, or Siri Suggestions.
Without those details, the available guidance does not establish whether a particular WhatsApp action should appear for your specific iOS and WhatsApp versions or region.
