Windows 10 tips are instructions or recommendations for using, customizing, troubleshooting, or understanding Windows 10. The phrase describes general how-to guidance, not a specific Windows feature or product.
What counts as a Windows 10 tip?
A tip might explain how to navigate Windows, change a setting, personalize the desktop, use an accessibility feature, manage files, or address a common problem. These are examples of the kinds of subjects that how-to guidance can cover, not an official Microsoft classification.
Microsoft historically used the term in the name of its Tips app. In an April 10, 2017 post, Microsoft described the app as a place for tips, tricks, and information about Windows updates. That historical description does not establish that the app is currently installed or available on every Windows 10 PC. Microsoft’s 2017 description of the Tips app

What Windows 10’s end of support means for tips and advice
Microsoft ended support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025, for the releases and editions covered by its lifecycle announcement. A Windows 10 PC can continue to work after that date, but Microsoft says unsupported devices no longer receive regular software and security updates or technical support. Without regular security updates, using an unsupported PC can carry increasing security risk; it does not mean the computer stops working immediately. #1 Best Overall
Some guidance remains about everyday use, while support and security guidance needs to account for this change. Windows 10 versions, editions, and specialized servicing arrangements can have different details, so the general end-of-support date should not be treated as proof that every possible Windows 10 installation has identical servicing status.
What to do if you still use Windows 10
Microsoft recommends moving to Windows 11 on compatible devices. Compatibility is not universal: check whether your PC meets Windows 11 requirements before planning an upgrade. If it does not, consider the available options for moving to a supported device or Windows version. Microsoft’s lifecycle announcement outlines compatibility checks and migration choices; the sources cited here do not establish current Extended Security Updates eligibility, terms, or prices, so check Microsoft’s current guidance for those specifics.
