Disruptive’s reported fund target and amount secured—up to $10 billion and $7.5 billion, respectively—are not independently verified by the available sources. The firm’s profile says it is based in Dallas and was founded in 2012. Its role in two Groq financing announcements is clearer: Groq named Disruptive as a lead in separate 2026 rounds. A third-party investor list also names Disruptive in connection with Reflection AI, but does not state its investment amount or role.

Are the reported $10 billion target and $7.5 billion secured confirmed?

No. The figures appear in the report framing this story, but the available sources do not verify either the target or how much has been secured. They should therefore be treated as reported figures, not independently confirmed fundraising totals.

What is Disruptive?

Disruptive’s company profile describes the firm as Dallas-based, founded in 2012, and focused on private technology companies. That description comes from the firm’s own profile, rather than an independent company-history source. Disruptive’s company profile

What did Disruptive announce with Groq?

Groq published two distinct financing announcements in 2026. They differ in date, round description, amount, and named investors; the amounts are not a single combined round.

Date Financing Amount Lead and other named investors Valuation stated
June 22, 2026 Growth capital $650 million Led by Disruptive and Infinitum Not stated in the announcement
August 17, 2026 Series A $350 million Led by Disruptive, with planned participation from NVIDIA $3.5 billion

Both announcements are Groq’s own accounts of its financing. The June release characterized the capital as supporting the company’s next phase; the August release described a business built around AI compute, inference, and cloud services. In the August announcement, Groq quoted Alex Davis, its executive chairman and Disruptive’s CEO, saying: “We are building Groq into the world’s leading AI inference cloud.” Groq’s August 17, 2026 Series A announcement Groq’s June 22, 2026 growth-capital announcement

What is established about Disruptive’s investment in Reflection AI?

A November 2025 Rothschild & Co growth-equity update lists Disruptive among investors in Reflection AI’s October 2025 Series B. The entry establishes that Disruptive was named as an investor; it does not identify Disruptive as the lead or give its investment amount. The source is a third-party financial advisory update, not a Reflection AI announcement. Rothschild & Co’s November 2025 Growth Equity Update
