Bluehost’s official US pricing page lists Starter at $3.99 per month initially and $9.99 per month when renewed on a 36-month term. The renewal cost changes with the billing term: Starter is listed at $15.99 per month for monthly renewal, $11.99 per month on a 12-month term, or $9.99 per month on a 36-month term. The headline figure of $2.09 per month was not listed on the public US pricing page reviewed on October 7, 2026, so treat it as an unverified offer rather than a current general price.
Bluehost prices and renewals at a glance
Bluehost’s public US pricing page, accessed in 2026, shows these introductory prices and 36-month renewal rates. Promotions apply to the initial term; plans automatically renew at the regular rate. Prices are vendor-published, not a guarantee of what a particular account will be charged later. Check the offer and renewal notice associated with your account before purchasing or renewing.
| Plan | Listed introductory price | Listed renewal price on a 36-month term |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $3.99/month | $9.99/month |
| Business | $6.99/month | $13.99/month |
| eCommerce Essentials | $14.99/month | $21.99/month |
These are the prices on Bluehost’s US pricing page as accessed in 2026. The listed introductory price is not the long-term cost: the renewal column is what to compare when estimating a site’s ongoing hosting expense.

Bluehost’s 2026 renewal price list gives different monthly-equivalent rates according to the renewal billing term. Longer terms have lower monthly-equivalent rates but require a longer commitment and a larger payment for that term.

Is Bluehost still $2.09 a month?
The $2.09/month figure in the headline topic was not corroborated by the official US public pricing page accessed on October 7, 2026. It may refer to a past campaign, a regional offer, a particular billing term, or a coupon, but the available pricing information does not establish which. Do not assume it is an available general rate.

If you encounter that amount in an advertisement or checkout, confirm the country, eligible plan, initial term, upfront charge, offer eligibility, and renewal price before paying. Bluehost says promotional rates apply only to the initial term and renew at regular rates.

Starter for a single-site entry point
Starter is positioned as the entry plan for a first website. For one WordPress site, it is the natural tier to evaluate first, but decide using the included site count, storage, and the specific features shown at checkout—not the introductory price alone. The listed 36-month renewal is $9.99/month; shorter renewal terms cost more.
Rank #3
Business for a higher tier
Business is listed at $6.99/month initially and $13.99/month on a 36-month renewal. Choose it only if the current offer’s added capacity or features address a need that Starter does not. Verify the exact inclusions in the checkout plan because feature descriptions can vary by offer.
eCommerce Essentials for a store-focused setup
eCommerce Essentials is listed at $14.99/month initially and $21.99/month on a 36-month renewal. It is the commerce-oriented option in the listed lineup. Do not assume every optional store add-on is necessary; identify the functions your store requires and check whether each is included before choosing.
Rank #4
Bluehost’s pricing page advertises weekly backups and site-management and security tools, while an independent WPBeginner review describes plan-specific differences and optional paid add-ons. Confirm the exact features and any extra charges for your own checkout offer rather than treating a general feature list as a guarantee.
Domain, cancellation, and refund terms to check
Free domain offer
Bluehost says qualifying 12- or 36-month hosting plans include one free domain for the first year, subject to redemption conditions and eligible top-level domains. The domain renews afterward at the then-current rate. Include that future domain charge in your budget if you plan to keep the address.
Best Value
Hosting refunds
Bluehost describes a 30-day money-back guarantee for hosting charges. Most add-on charges and domain costs are excluded, and keeping a domain included with the hosting offer can result in a non-refundable domain fee. Hosting cancellations after the first 30 days are not refunded. Review the applicable terms before canceling or relying on a refund.

Bluehost publishes a 99.99% shared-hosting uptime service-level agreement (SLA) and describes a limited credit-claim process on its pricing page. This is Bluehost’s contractual statement, not an independently measured uptime result. The available evidence does not establish a current, independently comparable performance test for Bluehost, so the SLA alone should not be treated as proof of real-world speed or availability.
Quick Recap
How to estimate the real cost before you buy
- Choose the plan based on what the site needs. Decide whether you need one basic site, additional plan capacity, or store-oriented features.
- Record the introductory term and total due now. A monthly-equivalent promotion can require payment for a longer initial term. Use the checkout total, not just the displayed per-month figure, for your initial budget.
- Compare renewal terms. Use the renewal schedule above to compare monthly, 12-month, and 36-month rates, and weigh the longer commitment against the lower monthly equivalent.
- Check extras and domain costs. Confirm which backups, security tools, and other features are included in the specific offer, whether add-ons cost extra, and what the domain will cost after its included first year.
- Save the terms and check the renewal notice. Keep the order details and review your account’s renewal amount and term before the next charge; published prices may not match every account’s later rate.
