Xbox FanFest is an in-person community event, but there is no single agenda shared by every city. Depending on the stop, attendees may find hands-on gameplay, Xbox history and artifacts, fan activities, collectibles, or a watch party. Entry rules also vary by location, so check the official Xbox FanFest page for the specific event before making plans.
What happens at Xbox FanFest?
Xbox describes FanFest as a location-specific celebration for players and local Xbox communities. The activities announced for one city are examples, not a promise that every stop will offer the same program.
Hands-on gameplay and demos
Some FanFest events include opportunities to play. Xbox’s Seattle announcement lists hands-on gameplay, while its Tokyo Game Show programming promoted hands-on access to Minecraft Dungeons II on the show floor, alongside Call of Duty and other Xbox titles at FanFest Tokyo. Check the selected city’s announcement for its playable games; the lineup is not uniform across locations.

Xbox history, fan activities, and community
Seattle’s event is framed around Xbox past, present, and future, with history and artifacts. Xbox also announced trivia, collectibles, fan activities, and opportunities to connect with people behind games and fellow players. These details describe the Seattle program, not a guaranteed checklist for other cities.

Watch parties and special guests
FanFest Tokyo included a watch party for the Tokyo Game Show broadcast with special guests Misuzu Araki and Larry Hryb. Broadcast tie-ins depend on the event and its timing; look for them in that stop’s official schedule.
Merchandise
Xbox announced an Xbox Gear pop-up shop for the Seattle FanFest. Xbox introduced Xbox Gear as its official merchandise destination in August 2026, but the Seattle announcement does not establish that a shop or any particular product will be available at every stop.

How do you get tickets to Xbox FanFest?
There is no universal entry process established for every city. Xbox’s August 24, 2026 tour update said tickets for every stop would be awarded through city-specific sweepstakes. A later Mexico City update described a registration process with email instructions for confirmed registrants. Because the process can differ by location, use the current rules published for your event rather than assuming a sweepstakes, registration method, price, age limit, or capacity applies everywhere.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches- Open the official FanFest page: Go to xbox.com/fanfest and select the city you plan to attend.
- Read the event’s entry rules: Confirm how to enter or register, any eligibility requirements, deadlines, and whether attendance is subject to capacity or availability.
- Check your email and follow-up instructions: If the event asks you to register or enter a sweepstakes, look for official confirmation and any later instructions. Mexico City’s published process, for example, sent instructions to confirmed registrants.
- Recheck before travelling: Verify the venue, event date, arrival guidance, and any changes on the official event page or in the event’s messages.
For Mexico City specifically, Xbox Wire en Español said the first 2,000 successful registrations were assigned QR-code attendance instructions for the October 17, 2026 session. Other registrants could select a date and time subject to availability. That allocation was for Mexico City and should not be read as a FanFest-wide capacity or entry rule.

Is Xbox FanFest different in each city?
Yes. Xbox says each event is tailored to its location, so a city may have different games, activities, venue, schedule, and entry rules from another. If you are choosing between stops, compare the announced playable games and activities, date and venue, entry process and eligibility, and any accessibility or on-site accommodations specified for each event. The announcements do not establish that every stop offers the same accommodations; ask the local event organizer if you need details that are not published.

Xbox later announced Seattle at MoPOP for November 12, 2026.
