If a supported iPhone Wallet with MagSafe won’t appear in Find My, attach it to your iPhone and add it through Find My’s accessory setup. If it is already linked to another Apple Account, that account holder must remove it first. Find My may show the wallet’s last known location; Apple does not promise live, continuous tracking for the wallet.
First, make sure your wallet supports Find My
This setup applies to an iPhone Wallet with MagSafe model that specifically supports Find My and is compatible with your iPhone. A magnetic or MagSafe-compatible card holder is not necessarily Find My-enabled. Apple’s guide does not establish a universal list of compatible wallet and iPhone combinations, so check the exact model’s compatibility before troubleshooting further.
Add the wallet to Find My
When attaching it for the first time
- Attach the supported wallet to your iPhone.
- When prompted, tap Continue and follow the onscreen instructions.
If you need to add it later
- Open the Find My app on your iPhone.
- Attach the wallet to the iPhone.
- Tap Add, then choose Add MagSafe Accessory.
- Follow the onscreen prompts to finish setup.
Apple says adding the wallet can enable a notification if it detaches from the iPhone. See Apple’s instructions for adding an iPhone Wallet with MagSafe to Find My.

Check whether it belongs to another Apple Account
If Find My says the wallet is associated with another Apple Account, the person who owns that account needs to remove it before you can add it to yours. You cannot complete setup under your account until that association is cleared.

Don’t rely on an undocumented reset
Apple’s wallet instructions cover setup and account association; they do not provide a wallet-specific reset, firmware update, battery replacement, or repair procedure. If the wallet is compatible, the setup steps are complete, and account association is not the issue, contact Apple Support rather than trying a reset that Apple has not documented for this wallet.
If the wallet appears but its location is missing or old
Apple describes Find My as showing the wallet’s last known location, not a guaranteed live position. For Find My items generally, Apple says location updates when an item connects to the Find My network. If it cannot be located, Find My can show where and when it was last located and offer Notify When Found. Apple does not state a wallet-specific refresh interval. Its guide to locating an AirTag or other item explains the general item-location behavior.

Apple’s general Find My troubleshooting guidance says a device may show its last known location for up to seven days after its last location report, and may show no location after more than seven days. That is general device guidance, not a seven-day guarantee for a MagSafe wallet. The same guidance notes that an online device affected by a Location Services issue may display “Not sharing location • Online.” For broader offline and “No location found” guidance, see Apple’s Find My location troubleshooting page.
What the Find My network does—and doesn’t—guarantee
Apple describes the Find My network as a crowdsourced network of over a billion Apple devices that use Bluetooth to detect an accessory or device and report its approximate location to its owner. That network can help locate an item, but it does not guarantee that your wallet will be found immediately or provide continuous location updates. Apple does not publish a wallet-specific refresh schedule in its setup guide.

If your wallet itself does not support Find My
An AirTag can be attached to a personal item and set up separately in Find My. It is a separate tracker, not a way to make an unsupported wallet connect or repair a failed Find My setup. Apple’s Find My overview explains AirTag support. If you consider replacing the wallet, verify that the exact model supports Find My and works with your iPhone before buying.
