If you think you qualify for the FTC’s Amazon Prime settlement but haven’t gotten a notice or claims form, the missing notice alone does not disqualify you. Under the revised process, eligible customers do not need to file a claim or respond to a notice; payments are automatic. This guidance applies to the Prime settlement, not every case involving Amazon.
Check whether you meet the current eligibility rules
The FTC says you may be eligible if all three conditions below apply:
- You were an Amazon Prime customer in the United States.
- Between June 23, 2019, and June 23, 2025, you either signed up through a challenged enrollment flow or tried to cancel through Amazon’s online cancellation flow but could not complete it.
- You used no more than 20 Prime benefits in any 12-month period after enrolling. Prime Music and Prime Video products offered free to subscribers count as benefits.
The challenged enrollment flows were the universal Prime decision page, shipping selection page, single-page checkout, and Prime Video enrollment flow. See the FTC’s current Amazon refund page for the full criteria.
What to do if you haven’t gotten a notice or payment
- Compare your circumstances with the current criteria. Older coverage may describe a 10-benefit limit and a claim process. Those are not the revised rules; the current limit is no more than 20 benefits in a 12-month period, and eligible consumers do not need to file a claim.
- Ask the settlement administrator about your individual case. The FTC directs consumers to the administrator for questions about eligibility or payments. Use the contact details on the FTC refund page: email admin@SubscriptionMembershipSettlement.com, visit SubscriptionMembershipSettlement.com, or call 1-888-999-8094.
- Check payment instructions promptly if you receive one. An issued payment expires 60 days after its issue date. Contact the administrator if a payment is missing, incorrect, or expired.
The FTC’s public guidance explains the criteria but does not provide an individualized eligibility lookup for people without a notice. Whether you qualify can depend on Amazon’s records, so the administrator is the route for a case-specific answer.

How much could the payment be, and when should it arrive?
The FTC says total payments may be up to $200 per eligible customer. Earlier payments were capped at $51; under the revised order, eligible consumers may receive up to $149 in additional payments. The amount is not guaranteed to be $200 for every person.
The FTC expects eligible customers to receive refunds by April 2027. Payments may arrive by mailed check or electronically through PayPal or Venmo, and an issued payment expires after 60 days. Read the FTC’s September 2026 announcement for details about the additional payment process.

According to that announcement, additional automatic payments began October 1, 2026, for consumers who used 11–20 Prime benefits in a 12-month period and had not already received a settlement payment. The announcement also describes a possible additional payment round for people who previously accepted a payment, if the required fund threshold is not met.

The FTC says it is not contacting consumers about these refunds. It will not demand payment, threaten you, tell you to transfer money, or promise a prize. Amazon will not ask you to pay to receive a refund.

- Do not pay a fee to obtain a settlement payment.
- Do not transfer money or share personal information with someone who contacts you claiming to offer special access or a guaranteed refund.
- For questions, use the administrator contact details published on the FTC’s refund page.
Why older articles may describe different rules
The settlement process changed. The FTC’s revised order increased the benefit-use ceiling from 10 to 20 and provides for automatic payments to eligible consumers, rather than requiring them to use an earlier claim process. For this reason, follow the FTC’s current guidance rather than old instructions telling you to submit a claim form. The FTC describes the overall settlement as $2.5 billion, including $1.5 billion in consumer redress and a $1 billion civil penalty; it reported that more than $845 million in redress had been issued by September 2026.
