If Claude says your account is suspended, first determine whether the restriction applies to your individual account or to an organization. For an individual suspension you believe is mistaken, Anthropic’s Safeguards and Appeals help article directs you to sign in with the affected account and submit its linked appeal form. If you cannot sign in, contact support through the Help Center and choose “I can’t login.” If only an organization is paused and your personal account is in good standing, request a review of that organization instead.
Identify which kind of restriction you are seeing
The next step depends on what Claude has restricted. An individual account suspension, a paused organization, and an inability to log in are not interchangeable cases. Choosing the route that matches the screen you see helps ensure your request concerns the right account or organization.
- Individual account suspended: Use the appeal route described in Anthropic’s Safeguards and Appeals help article. Its instructions are for a user whose own account has been suspended or terminated and who believes the action was incorrect.
- Organization paused: If your individual account is still in good standing but an organization you belong to is restricted, use the organization review option on the restricted-account screen.
- Cannot log in: If you cannot access the account to use the appeal form, start a support conversation through the Help Center and select “I can’t login.”
A login problem by itself does not establish that your account was suspended. Use the support route to explain what you can and cannot access, rather than assuming the cause or trying to appeal an action you have not confirmed. If you can see a restriction notice, note whether it names your own account or an organization; that distinction determines which review option applies.

How to appeal an individual Claude suspension
Anthropic’s article “Advertencias de salvaguardas y apelaciones” (Safeguards and Appeals), dated July 9, 2026, identifies an appeal as the route for an individual account holder who believes a suspension or termination was made incorrectly. The appeal form is linked from that article, and the article says you must sign in to complete it.
- Open Anthropic’s Safeguards and Appeals help article. Locate the article through Anthropic’s Help Center if you do not have it open already. The version reviewed is in Spanish, so rely on the substance of its instructions rather than treating a translation as an exact English quotation.
- Sign in using the affected Claude account. Use the account that received the suspension notice, not a different account. The form requires login; the reviewed guidance does not describe an alternate way to submit the individual appeal form without signing in.
- Open the appeal form linked from the article and submit the request. Explain that you believe the suspension was incorrect and give clear context. Keep the request focused on the affected account and the action you want reviewed.
- Keep a record of the request. Save the confirmation or support conversation details so you can follow up in the same thread if needed.
Prepare a clear, useful appeal
The official guidance summarized here does not prescribe a specific evidence checklist. As a practical preparation step—not as a stated Anthropic requirement—identify the affected account, note when you first saw the restriction, and describe why you think the decision may be mistaken. If a particular event or use of the account is relevant, explain it factually and concisely. Avoid guessing at an internal reason or presenting speculation as fact.
It can help to organize the explanation in a few sentences: which account is affected, what restriction you encountered and when, and what you believe the reviewer should reconsider. If you have a concrete clarification relevant to the case, state it plainly. Avoid sending several versions of the same explanation through multiple channels; Anthropic’s support guidance says duplicate conversations for one issue usually slow the response.
An appeal asks for review; it does not guarantee that access will be restored. The cited guidance also does not publish a fixed appeal response time or a success rate. Do not rely on a promised timeline or an assumed outcome when deciding what to do next.

Anthropic’s “How to get support” article, marked updated this week when checked on October 13, 2026, describes a Help Center messenger route for account-access problems. This is the documented route to contact support when login is blocked.

- Start a support conversation.
- Choose “I can’t login” and describe the access problem.
Explain whether you see a suspension notice, cannot complete sign-in, or encounter another login issue. Include enough information for support to understand which account and problem you mean, but do not send payment information or other sensitive details unless requested through the official support process.
This messenger route is for contacting support; the cited guidance does not say it bypasses the appeal form’s sign-in requirement. If your issue is a confirmed individual suspension and you cannot use the form, describe that constraint in the conversation and ask how to proceed. Support is asynchronous, according to Anthropic’s support guide, so do not expect a live chat exchange or an immediate answer.

If the message icon or sign-in flow is not available to you, the guidance here does not identify a separate workaround or promise that another route can submit the appeal. Use the Help Center’s support conversation if you can reach it, clearly state that you cannot log in, and keep any follow-up in that conversation. Avoid third-party recovery services: the documented options are Anthropic’s appeal form and support messenger.
If your organization is paused but your account is not suspended
A paused organization is a separate case from an individual account suspension. If your personal account is in good standing and the restricted-account screen shows an organization as paused, use “Request a review” beside that organization on the screen. This route asks for review of the organization’s status; it is not described as an appeal for an individually suspended account.
Check which organization is affected before submitting the request, particularly if you have access to more than one. If the screen instead says your own account is suspended, use the individual-account process rather than treating the organization review control as a substitute. Likewise, an organization being paused does not by itself mean your own account was suspended; follow the status shown for each.

Why Anthropic says an account may be suspended
Anthropic’s Safeguards and Appeals article names several possible reasons for suspension. They are policy categories, not a diagnosis of why any particular reader’s account was restricted:
- Repeated violations of the Usage Policy.
- Creating an account from an unsupported location.
- Violating the Terms of Service.
The notice you received and Anthropic’s review are the relevant sources for your specific case. Do not assume that a particular category applies merely because it appears in the help article. If you do not understand the reason, state that in your appeal or support conversation and request clarification.
These categories are broad, and the article does not provide a way to infer the reason from a particular login symptom. Focus your request on the restriction and relevant facts rather than attempting to diagnose the account from the outside.
Exporting data or deleting an account
Anthropic says suspended users on Free, Pro, and Max may still have self-service options to export data or delete an account after signing in. Availability is conditional: export access may be restricted based on the Usage Policy violation associated with the account. Do not assume that every conversation or all account data can be exported, or that you will be able to reach these controls while access is blocked.
If you can sign in far enough to reach account controls, check the available export and deletion options before acting. An export and an account deletion serve different purposes: export is for retrieving available data, while deletion removes the account. If you need the account reviewed, consider whether deleting it would interfere with your ability to use the account or pursue the review before choosing deletion. The cited guidance does not state that deletion reverses a suspension or guarantees access to an appeal.

If the export option is unavailable or the data you need is not included, do not assume that support can restore or export everything; the guidance says data availability may be restricted. You can describe the issue through the official support route, but it does not promise that restricted data can be recovered.
Paid subscription, cancellation, and refund questions
Paid subscribers who are locked out can contact support through the Help Center messenger about login assistance, subscription cancellation, or a refund eligibility check. Anthropic’s support guidance says account and payment information must be validated. A request to check eligibility is not a promise that a refund will be issued.
When opening the conversation, state which billing issue you need help with and whether you can sign in. Follow any validation steps support provides through the official channel. The support article does not establish a refund entitlement for every suspended subscriber, nor does it provide a universal outcome for cancellation or refund requests.
Keep the billing question distinct from the request to review the suspension. You can explain both if both need attention, but make clear whether you are asking for login assistance, cancellation, or an eligibility check. Support must validate account and payment information, so avoid assuming that a refund or cancellation has been completed until you receive confirmation through the official channel.
How to follow up without slowing the issue down
Anthropic’s support guide says to use one conversation per issue; duplicate requests usually slow the response. If you already have a conversation about the suspension, continue in that thread rather than opening additional conversations for the same problem. Keep any follow-up specific—for example, clarify which account is affected or explain that you cannot access the appeal form.
