If an atmospheric water generator (AWG) is producing less water than expected, first check the humidity and temperature around the unit, then inspect its intake, filter, vents, and clearance. If those checks do not explain the change, use the troubleshooting instructions for your exact model to check its display, power, and water path. AWG output depends heavily on local conditions, so low production alone does not prove a part has failed.
1. Check the temperature and humidity where the unit is running
AWGs draw moisture from air, so production can fall when the surrounding air contains less water vapor or is cooler than the unit’s preferred operating conditions. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) says production rates are highly dependent on air temperature and humidity in its November 2019 technical brief. Manufacturer guidance likewise notes that lower humidity can mean less water.
- Check the temperature and humidity in the room or area where the generator is operating, not just the weather elsewhere.
- Compare those readings with the operating range and rated-output conditions in the manual for your exact model.
- Consider whether the unit’s location or the season has changed since it last produced more water.
There is no single humidity cutoff that applies to every AWG. The EPA brief describes home systems ranging broadly from 1 to 20 liters per day, but that range is not a forecast for a particular unit or climate. A model’s stated output and its test conditions are the relevant comparison.
2. Inspect airflow, filter condition, and clearance
Restricted airflow is a practical early check because the unit needs air to reach its moisture-collection system. The WES 15L manual lists blocked vents, a dirty air filter, placement too close to a wall, and poor room-air circulation among possible reasons for slow production. Airqua’s 30L product guidance also flags blocked ventilation and wall placement.

- ✅ COMPLETE FILTRATION SET: Includes 4 essential filters - PAC Filter, UF Filter, CB Filter, and Air Filter specifically designed for Pure AirWater A10 atmospheric water generators
- ✅ PERFECT FIT: It is 100% compatible with Pure AirWater atmospheric water generators. Please replace filters according to your usage patterns, usually every 3-6 months, to ensure consistent water quality.
- ✅ QUALITY CONSTRUCTION: Ensure consistent water filtration performance and longevity, help maintain clean, great-tasting, and safe drinking water straight from the air.
- ✅EASY REPLACEMENT: Color-coded caps and numbered system (01, 02, 03) allows for simple identification and hassle-free filter changes, with easy twist-lock installation system.
- Look for dust, objects, or other visible obstructions at the air intake and vents.
- Check whether the air filter looks dirty or is due for service under the model’s maintenance schedule.
- Confirm that the unit has the wall clearance and surrounding circulation space specified in its manual.
- Use only the maintenance procedure in the manual. Do not remove covers or reach into powered equipment.
If the air filter is dirty or due for replacement, use a filter specified for your exact model. A water-filter replacement is different: it may be required for scheduled treatment maintenance, but the available manufacturer guidance does not establish it as a direct fix for low condensation output.
3. Check whether it is making water or only failing to dispense it
A unit that is not delivering water at a faucet or outlet may still be generating water. A full tank, a dispensing problem, or an issue in the water path can look like a production failure. Tank indicators, automatic cutoffs, faucet screens, and line checks vary by model.

- EXACT FIT FOR MODEL AWG-DP-10L – This replacement filter kit is engineered specifically for the AWG-DP-10L atmospheric water generator / water-from-air machine. Designed to match the original specifications for a secure, leak-free, drop-in installation with no tools or modifications required. (Please verify your machine's model number before ordering.)
- COMPLETE 4-PIECE FILTRATION SET – Each kit includes everything you need for a full refresh: 01 PAC Filter (sediment + carbon pre-filter), 02 UF Ultrafiltration Membrane Filter (fine particle removal), 03 CB Carbon Block Filter (taste & odor), and 1 Air Filter. One box restores both water and air purification performance.
- 4-STAGE WATER PURIFICATION (PAC + CB + UF) – The PAC filter traps rust, Adsorb & eliminate residual VOCs; the compressed Carbon Block polishes taste and removes odors; the UF membrane blocks fine suspended particles while retaining beneficial minerals. Together they deliver clean, fresh, great-tasting drinking water straight from the air.
- DUAL-SIDED AIR FILTER FOR CLEANER INTAKE – The air filter features a two-layer design: a front PP cotton layer captures dust, pollen and airborne particles, while the rear activated carbon granule layer adsorbs odors, VOCs and gaseous pollutants. Cleaner intake air means cleaner source water and longer machine life.
- EASY DIY SWAP & LONG-LASTING VALUE – Twist-and-lock cartridges make replacement quick and mess-free, with no plumber needed. Replacing filters on schedule protects the internal system, maintains output quality, and saves you money versus buying filters separately. A smart, cost-effective maintenance solution for your water maker.
Read the display legend and troubleshooting table for your unit before treating a dispensing symptom as proof that condensation has stopped. The WES 15L and Airqua materials describe model-specific water-outlet or water-path checks; do not assume those procedures or indicators apply to another brand.
4. Use the manual for power, display, and component checks
If room conditions and airflow do not account for the change, consult the exact model’s troubleshooting guide. It may identify display warnings, power requirements, or checks for a pump, pipe blockage, or water outlet. For example, the WES 15L manual includes voltage, pump operation, and pipe flow among its slow-production prompts. These are diagnostic prompts for that model, not evidence that a particular component has failed on every AWG.

- Find the model number and open its owner’s manual or manufacturer troubleshooting page.
- Match the displayed warning or symptom to the manual’s instructions, including any stated power requirements.
- Perform only checks the manual identifies as user maintenance, and follow its shutdown or restart steps exactly.
- Contact the manufacturer or an authorized service provider if the manual points to an internal fault, or if low output continues after the listed user checks.
Persistent electrical, compressor, refrigeration, or internal plumbing issues should be handled according to the manufacturer’s service instructions rather than by opening the machine or attempting a repair based on another model’s troubleshooting list.
5. Keep water safety separate from production troubleshooting
Water appearing in the tank does not by itself establish that it is safe to drink. The EPA’s 2019 technical brief notes that volatile compounds in air can dissolve into condensate and that microbial growth is possible in plumbing and stored water. In a three-month evaluation of untreated condensate from a commercial AWG, the EPA’s initial review of Watergen-provided data found no elemental analyses above current EPA drinking-water standards, while overall microbial numbers measured by heterotrophic plate counts were elevated. Those findings describe the studied system and do not certify every AWG or water stored in a household tank.

Replacement timing cannot be generalized across AWGs. For example, Altitude Water’s FAQ gives Trident 12 guidance of replacing the water filter every six months or 1,750 gallons, whichever comes first, and the air filter every one to four months depending on environmental conditions. Those intervals apply to that model’s guidance, not to other machines. Check your own manual for compatible parts and service timing.
