A working preview from Lovable, Bolt, or v0 is not automatically ready for Apple’s App Store. Apple evaluates the app you submit—not the builder used to create it—and says a website or limited web interactions alone do not make a quality iOS app. Use this checklist to assess the app, privacy disclosures, listing, reviewer access, and build requirements before submitting.
1. Confirm the submitted app is complete and useful on iOS
- Test the actual build you intend to submit on the target devices and operating-system versions. A web preview does not establish that the submitted app is complete or works as intended.
- Walk through the core features from start to finish, including sign-in, payments or subscriptions, and any external-service flows your app relies on.
- Make sure the App Store description accurately reflects what the app does and that users can complete its main tasks.
- Assess whether the iOS experience is more than a lightly interactive website. Apple states: “Websites served in an iOS app, web content that is not formatted for iOS, and limited web interactions do not make a quality app.” Read Apple’s App Store guidelines.
Apple does not publish a separate review rule for apps made with Lovable, Bolt, or v0. The relevant question is whether the delivered app meets Apple’s requirements and provides a suitable experience.
2. Prepare an accurate App Store product page
In App Store Connect, complete the listing materials and age-rating questionnaire for the app you are submitting. Prepare the app name, icon, description, screenshots, previews, and keywords. Ensure the listing and rating answers match the app’s real features and content. Apple’s submission guidance is at Submitting an app to the App Store.

3. Verify privacy disclosures against the shipped app
Privacy information must describe the app’s actual data practices, including data handled by integrated third-party services or code. Review the SDKs and services present in the shipped build rather than assuming the builder’s defaults account for every data flow.

- Provide an accessible privacy-policy link in the app and in App Store Connect metadata.
- Explain in the policy what data is collected, how it is collected, how it is used, and relevant third-party sharing.
- Report app privacy practices accurately in App Store Connect, including those of integrated third parties, and update the responses when practices change.

4. Give App Review the information and access it needs
In App Review Information, explain the app’s purpose, main features, intended audience, business model, external services, and the devices and OS versions you tested. Provide current demo credentials and any codes required to reach account-based features. Test those credentials before submitting; an inaccessible core flow can prevent reviewers from assessing the app.

5. Check whether the app needs category- or region-specific documents
Some apps need evidence beyond the standard submission materials. Depending on the category and the regions where you plan to distribute, this may include licenses, regulatory clearance, partnership evidence, or rights documentation. Apple identifies areas such as medical, financial, cryptocurrency, gambling, and protected content as examples to check. Review the applicable rules and have required documents ready before submitting; the complete-review guidance is available at Apple’s review-information page.

6. Check SDK and minimum-OS requirements for your upload date
Apple’s submission page, accessed October 7, 2026, states that beginning in April 2027, iOS and iPadOS submissions must be built with the iOS and iPadOS 27 SDK or later and target iOS 15 or later. This is a future requirement as of that date, not a current requirement for every upload. Check Apple’s live submission requirements before preparing a later release, since requirements can change.

- Experience: Does it work as a complete, iOS-appropriate app, rather than relying on a thin website wrapper?
- Capabilities and integrations: Which native capabilities and external services does the shipped app use?
- Privacy: Do the in-app policy and App Store Connect disclosures cover the app and its integrated services?
- Reviewer access: Can reviewers reach and test every important flow with the information and credentials provided?
- Maintenance: Can your team update the build as Apple’s requirements and the app’s own services change?
These are practical questions drawn from Apple’s review, privacy, and submission guidance, not an official Apple scoring system. Apple reviews each submission against its applicable criteria, and no checklist can guarantee approval. See Apple’s App Review overview.
