A discounted Galaxy S25 Ultra is worth considering only after you verify the exact model and storage, condition, carrier compatibility, warranty, return terms, and total delivered price. “Discounted” alone does not show that a listing is a good deal: compare it with an offer for the same configuration and condition, and get important terms in writing before you pay.
Identify the exact phone and its condition
Start by confirming the model code, storage capacity, and sales region. The listing, invoice, and phone’s device information should agree. A similar product name is not enough: regional versions may differ in network compatibility, SIM or eSIM configuration, warranty support, and service eligibility.
Get the condition stated in writing. “New,” “open-box,” “used,” and “refurbished” are not interchangeable, and seller grades such as “excellent” need a clear definition. For a refurbished phone, ask who refurbished it, what was replaced, and what inspection or warranty the seller includes. Do not assume a third-party refurbished device follows Samsung’s standards.
- Ask for the precise model code and storage, and check them against the device information screen when you receive the phone.
- Save the product listing and any messages that define condition, included accessories, or repairs.
- For a regional import, confirm compatibility and support with the seller and your local Samsung service channel before purchase.
Check seller, returns, and refund terms
Before paying, verify who is actually selling the phone, not just which marketplace hosts the listing. Read the written condition description and establish the return window, refund method, any restocking fee, and who pays return shipping. The U.S. Federal Trade Commission advises shoppers to compare sellers and products and keep purchase records; retain the listing, seller messages, receipt, and proof of payment (FTC online shopping guidance).
#1 Best Overall
- Stunning 6.9″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with adaptive 1–120 Hz refresh rate, ultra‑bright up to ~2600 nits, HDR support, “Vision Booster,” and adaptive color tone — giving vivid colours, great outdoor visibility, and super‑smooth scrolling.
- Powerful internals: it runs on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy (3 nm) chip, with 12 GB (or in some markets up to 16 GB) RAM and up to 1 TB UFS 4.0 storage — offering significantly improved CPU/GPU/NPU performance, especially for AI tasks, gaming, and heavy multitasking.
- Advanced quad‑camera system: 200 MP wide main sensor, plus a 50 MP ultrawide, a 50 MP periscope telephoto (5× optical zoom), and a 10 MP telephoto (3× optical zoom) — giving flexibility from ultra‑wide through detailed telephoto shots, and strong performance in varied lighting.
- 5,000 mAh battery with 45 W fast wired charging, wireless charging (Qi2) and reverse wireless charging — balancing long battery life with flexible charging options.
- Durable, premium build: Titanium‑frame body, protected by Corning Gorilla Armor 2 glass, with IP68 dust/water resistance, ultrasonic in‑display fingerprint sensor, modern connectivity (5G, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth, UWB, USB‑C), and long‑term software support (Android 15 / One UI 7, promised 7 major OS/security updates).
Make sure the return period gives you time to test the phone and contact the carrier or manufacturer if needed. A seller’s general policy may not cover a device that differs from its listing, so keep the specific listing and written promises rather than relying on a verbal assurance.
Confirm it will activate on your carrier
Ask whether the phone is locked to a carrier, whether an installment balance or other carrier restriction remains, and whether the prior owner’s Google and Samsung accounts have been removed. Ask your intended carrier to verify the specific device can be activated on its network, then complete activation while the seller’s return window is still open. Carrier procedures vary, so do not rely on a generic claim that a phone is “unlocked” or on an unverified lookup.
Samsung says phones in its U.S. Certified Re-Newed program are carrier-unlocked. That statement applies to Samsung’s program, not to used or refurbished stock from other sellers (Samsung Certified Re-Newed program).

Compare price with a like-for-like offer
Compare the final delivered price—not just the headline price—with another offer for the same storage, condition, region, carrier status, and warranty. Label new, open-box, used, and renewed prices separately. There is no established market-wide “fair discount” percentage for this phone, and a manufacturer’s renewed price is a reference point, not proof that another listing is good value.
On Samsung’s U.S. Certified Re-Newed product page, the Galaxy S25 Ultra was listed on October 4, 2026, at the following prices. These are dated renewed-device listing prices, not prices for new phones or guaranteed current offers (Samsung U.S. Certified Re-Newed Galaxy S25 Ultra).
| Storage | Samsung U.S. Certified Re-Newed price checked October 4, 2026 |
|---|---|
| 256GB | $979 |
| 512GB | $1,029 |
| 1TB | $1,129 |

Understand the warranty and protection plan
Ask Samsung or the seller to confirm the warranty’s start and end dates, required proof of purchase, and whether service is available where you live. Samsung notes that international warranty service can be limited for newer models, so do not assume an imported phone receives the same support as a local-market SKU (Samsung warranty information).

For U.S. Certified Re-Newed phones, Samsung states that the program includes a one-year limited warranty and that Care+ may be available for eligible renewed models. Its program also describes genuine Samsung parts, a certified new battery, current software updates, and a 147-point quality inspection. Those are Samsung’s stated terms for its program; they do not describe unrelated third-party listings (Samsung Certified Re-Newed program).
Before buying an extended service contract or protection plan, compare its coverage, exclusions, repair fees, and claim limits with the included warranty. The FTC also recommends comparing a service contract with the product warranty (FTC guidance on extended warranties and service contracts).

Inspect the phone during the return period
If you can inspect it before purchase, or once it arrives, check the following promptly. These are practical buyer checks, not a report of independent testing or a Samsung diagnostic procedure.
- Display and touch: Look for cracks, dead pixels, burn-in, and areas that do not respond to touch.
- Cameras: Check the lenses for damage and try each camera; review photos for obvious focus or image problems.
- Sound and controls: Test speakers, microphones, and buttons.
- Charging and wireless features: Check the charging port and test wireless charging if available to you.
- Biometrics and S Pen: Set up and test the biometric features and S Pen functions.
- Connectivity: Test Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and mobile network connection, and confirm carrier activation.
- Battery behavior: Charge and use the phone long enough to notice unusual drain, overheating, or interruptions.
If a check fails, document the problem and contact the seller within the stated return window. Avoid delaying until after that window closes.

Keep records of the offer and purchase in case the delivered device does not match what was promised.
If you are selling or trading in your old phone
Before handing over your current phone, back up your data, remove SIM and SD cards, unlink accounts, and erase personal information. The FTC provides guidance on preparing a phone for trade-in or resale (FTC phone trade-in and resale guidance).
